There are options to solve this problem, some good, some not so good-but I think you're forgetting that, the regime in Iran isn't exactly popular by it's own citizens-there was literally mass protests recently-I think we can find someone to place in charge who will be friendly to the US. Or at least be smart enough to realize that, staying the good side of the US, will ensure they don't get blown to bits like the Ayatollah. Hell maybe we could carve Iran up-give parts of it to the neighbors if they want it-no more Iran-one less middle eastern country-and the neighbors getting a bit bigger-there are also I forget their name, but that minority group-the Kurds I believe? I'm sure they'd be happy to have their own little nation. Could just bomb them so much, that the nation is unable to survive or have to spend decades rebuilding before they can even think about picking another fight.

I'm no expert, so I can't say what would be the best solution-but those are just a few off the top of my head-so long as we make it to where these guys who have been chanting death to the West for nearly half a century are finally put down and no longer threatening others, I'll be happy if we manage that-if nothing else, at least this war will cripple them for a while, and kick the can of worms of them trying to harm us a bit further down the road-but I'd prefer it be solved NOW obviously.

Yeah that is what I am seeing, just a temporary solution to such a difficult problem. Meanwhile their leaders live in bunkers do they not? Do we know exactly if they have all been eradicated? I know their supreme leader is in a coma or something? Unresponsive they say.

No I know the people have been protesting their leadership. But that is the question. Who among the people shall take their place? Who do they have to lead them? Not exactly opposition parties for them. The leaders vet the candidates to take over. Same old shit different day.

their first leader I know died-the new one is that guy's son, and it's said he is possibly in a coma. We don't know how much of their leadership is gone-but we do know that, they lost a lot of leaders. I figure once the war is over, one of the conditions will likely be to possible hold an actual election-with US oversight to ensure no cheating, no foul play, etc. Or heck, we could bring the monarchy back-I recall the last Shah of Iran does have a child or grandson who could reclaim the throne-putting him in charge would make him indebted to the US. Again, there are options, and I'm sure the US knows far more then do about that region-and likely will have an idea of how to change the Regime to be more friendly. Or they just bungle it up-regardless, can only hope that things work out-I'm hopeful.
