I have heard that 51 is the maximum you can roll in 10 levels of your ship. What is the best configuration for attack with 51 attributes to disperse .... And what is the best defensive configuration of 51 attributes , level 10 sol? Your opinion please?

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for entertainments sake), there is no best configuration. You may have yours set up for a strong likelihood of first attack and strong, accurate firing of rounds while your opponent has configured his ship with the strongest possible hull and maneuverability and speeds to counter your setup perfectly which would maybe even the chances of victory.

You are probably as likely to get a ship with 51 attributes by level 10 as you are to get one with 33 by level 10 or to find a valuable pearl in your oyster stew. It may happen but you may also want to consider saving any Master Craftsmanship voodoo for that Ship of the Line (SoL) that could use a little help. You may even choose to recycle that "weak" SoL. If you sell it when you have the materials to build a new one, you will have another chance to get a higher attribute count. Of course it could get fewer.
Yesterday I gave my all. Today I'll give more. Tomorrow, I'll take back what you took for granted.

After rerolling many, many times I got a 51 point SotL. I chose to spend my Masercraftsman on it so now I have a 52. Rebuild all your low point Ships of the Line (any less than 44 pts) and save your Master Craftsman cards for your best keeper ship.

I was pretty silly and used my master craftsman points on building up a weak ship better rather than rebuilding it and using them there.

Message to all: Don't make that mistake!

I can't agree more.

Regarding re-roll, it might be worthwhile but personally I have not done it a single time. I prefer spending my turns elsewhere I guess rather than building Ships of the Line. After all, there are so many SoLs that other players build; you can always take some of them!
