alright, i tried to keep this in house, but for long enough ive been disrespected by the squatters, with implicit support from Sky.
that war was broken, to say the least. panda was technically 'in charge' but tactically powerless. TMN did manage to capture a quantity of very nice ships from inactive players, but it needs to be pointed out that it was a much larger backstab on the part of Sky against the PK belligerent.
for example about 2 months before the war happened, Sky cast mindbar, fug, etc locks on masterz/talyn/eidran who were all inactives that had once been well stacked players. the timing, and beneficiaries of the attack were undisputably one-sided, blackpants and CJW captured most of the money, and 90 percent or more of the ships from all of these players.
fast forward to the attack. sky jumped in and persuaded/nudged panda out of battle command, and managed to coordinate the 2nd strike against imo... his grand plan? attack every noob on the imo list, an attack which cost bookoo credits worth of voodoo, while netting virtually no gains of any sort.
he thereafter surrendered to ABP virtually unconditionally within a day.
it's wrong to suggest that that war was 'lost' by PK. to the contrary, the belligerents were ready to have a long drawn out battle, but the "losing" to speak of was a surrender by a late-entry belligerent, who raced to make peace terms which overwhelmingly benefited his technical enemy immediately after getting involved.
considering the circumstances, i feel it is unfair to call this a TMN win in any real sense, more like a hostile takeover by-TMN with whatever remuneration the TMN royal family gave Sky personally, but also made possible by panda's tactical incompetence.
beyond that, the extended PK family went on to destroy imo singlehandedly, and increasingly under fire from the current usurpers. checkit out, imo completely splintered apart while Roi's clan continues to be alive and kicking. even the practice of voodoo-hoarding has been significantly diminished. so the tactical gains of both sides of the fight were contentious at best. the extreme subterfuge on the part of the TMN royal family did in fact win many gains, while a bomb went off in the heart of imo and tmn from which neither guild has fully recovered, imo just disappeared... so clearly its alot more complicated then to just say war happened and TMN won.. that was a statement made by a complicit Sky, not really comparable to the material destruction wrecked upon imo/TMN for the months after the fighting was "over".
history...
