That is not what I said at all. I point out the incentive for the devs and game owners to please the player base and not alienate it with poor decisions. But in the end its not compulsory gor anyone to be here : equally no-one is gonna die if we do leave : its a game us all.. not mortal combat.

The standard for suggestion approval was set by CJ when the development team was formed.

Team had 5 members and 4 yes votes were required for approval. 80%

Now with this, a suggestion only requires 2 dev team members and 4 yes votes from playerbase to approve. Or Dez and 4 others.

This lowers the standard so much that it is ridiculous.

CJ set the standard at 80% and it should stay there.

I see this as a viable solution to the reality of the problem on two fronts:

1) Dev team members have real life situations, too. Some come and go, and it seems the Dev team has had a bit of a revolving door.

2) The system provides a tangible input from the entire player base - who also have real lives that take them away a while.

This allows for steady progress to be made, rather than a huge flurry of work done, then nothing, as the team waits to hear from absent Dev team members.

This is a game, and there are massive amounts of information and ideas to wade thru - so much, CJ has opened it up to the player base for input.

There's no perfect formula - but the Fail-Safe is CJ himself. He and his crew have built this game. Our job is to first, play with the features provided, and provide ideas for further features in PG.

This is CJ's show - we are but the actors on the stage....

I respect your opinion but wholeheartedly disagree. This new system goes against every reason the team was wet up in the first place.

As played out above, the only person in the dev team that matters is dez. He can approve suggestions by himself as far as the dev team requirement goes. His vote worth 4 points and 4 points is all that is required from the dev team.

He is also the only one to have veto power on the dev team further making the work of the rest of the team pointless. All that is required from the dev team now is his approval. If a suggestion does not have it then it dies.... if it does have it then there is nothing anyone else on the dev team can do.

Dez votes yes everyone else on the dev team votes no.... suggestion still moves forward. Yes it would need 4 yes votes from player base.... but I am speaking specifically of the dev team.

It has been rendered pointless. Dez has final say on everything.

Honestly the problem with the dev team is not players real life taking them away, it is not the revolving door.

The problem is the lack of leadership, direction and guidelines for process. I was on the team for months before anyone explained to me how things worked. And then when it was examined to me it was not by the leader of the dev team or admin it was by someone who was no longer officially on the dev team

No direction, no guidelines and no defined process leads to apathy in A team. The apathy is a reflection of leadership more than anything else.

What part if that do you find funny. It is sad. Something that was originally set up to help improve the game has fallen apart.

There is no team anymore. There is the coordinator and then everyone else.

The long and short is, Dez does a good job of trying to push idea's forward and demonstrates good common sense in regard to workable idea's.

Despite this, the game is dependent on the whole player base input as to what is good/bad and not just 1 guy or 4 or 5 guys.
So far, I cannot recall any development being implemented from the current dev team but there has been some idea's implemented presented from years gone by. Most improvements that have taken place in my tenure here if I am honest, have left me a bit disheartened as to the depth of each improvement and time needed to implement however, I also realize these improvements are just stepping stones to building a more complex battle situation. I hope my patience lasts long enough to enjoy the final major developments needed to fill in the missing pieces that promote more sea battles and port battles.
The blueprint has been laid out years ago and our current player base has a steering ability only so quit whining that you have no 'power' and Dez has it all. The truth be known, we all have the same power with our acceptance/nonacceptance and Dez has the steering wheel to keep us out of the ditch and making sure our steering ability don't go too far off track. He does a good job from my viewpoint.
Regardless, the road on which we travel has been built years ago by the owners and the destination will not change, only how we get there.
