Hello everyone !

In light of events recently, I must apologize and update our rules.

Anyone, who is picked on a draft team, who is caught accepting bribes for votes, shall lead to the removal of either: the team for the draft, or the player from said team. Said player will not receive payouts or donations. If a team is ended up removed from the draft, prizes will be redistributed evenly across the remaining teams.

Thank you for understanding said precautionary rules. Let’s continue moving forward :)

Oh and I am glad to see you agree with my contention from last draft. This was the point I made several times last draft that you and your team captain ridiculed me for.

So thank you for proving one of my points again.

I will be paying 10 mill for votes .......

How long are you going to keep harping on that? We all know what happened, and correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that most people have moved on (or at least are pretending to in the spirit of the event). Mistakes were made and they were clearly addressed, as you can see with the specific rules in place this year. Please don't bring a sour tone to this whole event just because of what happened in a previous iteration of it.

Isn't it easy enough to just go about your normal business without raving here? There's no sense in getting so worked up over a dead event.

It's not so much the event, but the player that Feniks has issue with.

And the issues with that player stem from that event.

I can see that you think that Feniks should just leave it be and move on.

The truth is that:

Some people can move on without recourse.

Some people can't move on at all.

Some people need recourse to move on.

Not everyone is going to just move on. Thinking that everyone should because you have, is utterly closed minded.

As such, Feniks is entitled to his opinion and until he violates forum or game rules, he can state what he likes.
I'm only here for Game Development and Forum Moderation.

If you see a forum rule violation, report the post.

You raise a fair point. He's absolutely entitled to hang on to previous events and cling on to them as long as he like- just as I'm entitled to complain about the forum in which he does it. This thread is about Fantasy Draft VIII- not Clockwork buying votes, not FD VII, and most definitely about a conflict between people.

There's no rules problem with what he's doing and I'll make no illusion so- there's also nothing legally wrong with Uncle Bob derailing Thanksgiving Dinner to start a political war in the family. All the same, I'd rather not see either happen, at least not in the event thread. He's already made a whole separate thread, and you'll notice a distinct lack of my presence there.

Feniks should not have his voice silenced in my opinion. At the same time, should we not be able to enjoy the draft without such extreme negativism?
Also, what about griefing in the forums? I know it is not condoned in game play.

"griefer
[ˈɡrēfə]
NOUN
informal
(in an online game or community) a person who harasses or deliberately provokes other players or members in order to spoil their enjoyment."

Does Feniks behavior qualify? I'm asking because I want to know what others, including moderators, think.

There is nothing I can do within my power of the draft to provide punishment to those cheating outside of the draft. I’ve thought it over and have come to multiple scenarios, and can’t think of a way within the forums to moderate and see that addressed. All I can do with real punishment is the players picked in the draft. Unfortunately, I cannot see who votes. If such a function were possible to see, there would be quite a security possibility to establish at the drafts. However, I can only hope the community as a whole wishes to see a fun and competitive draft, not a framed throne room.

If you have a solution to this so I can find a good way to provide security for the voting process, I would be happy to hear it. Anything helps in such a situation.

Until then, I will be having a long thought on this issue, and will be also writing our donation forums.

I cannot speak for the mods at this time, nor would I ever. I’m speaking out of personal opinion. I define a griefer as someone who attacks and harassed with no obvious physical gain, and often with malicious intent.
