Port Royal

There be a new guild in Avonmora mates, one that has been planned since me return to this unholy place... Its name be Port Royal.

In real life, Port Royal be based in the Carribean and in the 16th/17th century housed both Pirates and Privateers on its soil. Why should we try to change history?

We will be a guild that will house all types of players from Pirates, Privateers and even Merchants. To me, this has not really been done before. Without being offensive the guilds we see today are for Nations (USA Guild), Merchants (TUDOR/ATC) & Inbred Privateers (RHN/VUDU) - Yes sure, guilds have hosted a variety but never declared themselves an allround guild before.

Although we will be housing Pirates, Privateers and Merchants it is important to note. Our main goal is to help train New Players- unlike any guild seen before, we have came up with a New Player Scheme to help give an incentive for new folk to Avonmora come back on their first few, vital days. We still be in the early days and need to iron out a few wrinkles out our shorts, but ultimately we are ready.

Whilst not slating guilds that only fly one flag, we at Port Royal will not be about flying under one flag.

We also aim to be somewhat of a Roleplaying guild, alike STAR. For this very reason I have created a thread for the guild. Myself or senior members of this guild, will post stuff in this thread. Now ye maybe asking, what will we be posting here:
- When a New or Old player joins the guild, we will post a welcome message in this thread.
- We be 'aving have weekly posts on news for Port Royal.
- Any Peace, War or Skirmish conflicts we be having with other guilds.

This is a message to all guilds:
- We will not offer any guild packs. Simply because we do not want to sabotage our Pirates/Privateers stream of profits.
- If you are getting attacked by a Pirate/Privateer and he is getting on yer nerves; please contact a Senior member of our guild and we will try to resolve yer problem with him.
- If ye be a Pirate/Privateer and thinking of hitting us, we will ask ye to think twice. Whilst we may look like Big Friendly Giants, we can and will bite back.

Long live Port Royal,
Fair Winds and Smooth Sailing,
Signed,
Pirate Nelson.

Port Royal

Greetings me fellow bildgerats :hh

It has only been two days since me last post, and we did say we would post every major event that occured.

Port Royals Newest Members:
- PhoenixKnight
- Meliva
- Mack
- Captain Ahab
- Olwyn

Port Royals Guild News:

- The Bloodthirsty Pirate, Pirate Nelson transferred the guild leadership to Meliva. For she held him at gun point and threatened to throw him into her pig farm; for those that can believe such allegations against her.

- Guides now be getting produced to help the newest landlubbers get a better understanding.

- Although Fame be a useless Metric in these waters, Port Royal be on the first page of Guild Ranking. Holding the spot at #8.

This is it for this tavern post, mates. If the winds blow in a favorable wind direction, ye will hear from us again.

Long live Port Royal.
Bloodthirsty Pirate,
Pirate Nelson. :hh ^^ :arr

More of a national guild then a training one. You certainly don't advertise it as a training guild based on your guild page. But I do disagree with Roo about the game lacking a training guild before PR. There's Guard, Helm, ravenlocke, Star(before it merged with PR). And if you want to count national guilds that offer training then yes, Hellas and the USA.

I was deliberately not counting the nation based guilds.

And to be frank didn't believe the others mentioned were actively recruiting and training newcomers.
It might be useful to have a dedicated thread in the forum where each guild that wishes to engage with and assist does there blurb and keeps it updated?

That's a good idea Roo...It would also give new arrivals a bit of info and a choice list right in front of em..rather than hit and hope..lol

I know that Star and Guard actively sent out invitations, Just many don't accept. Not sure about the others I mentioned as I rarely saw newbies in the new arrival list in their guild, could be that they have different standards for invites. I sent invites to arrivals with more then 0 fame, fairly often. Though many went inactive shortly afterwards.

Happy to be in PR now though. Star was a bit lonely with only me as a teacher :D
