Charles pulls out a pistol and aims it down the corridor

I believe we may try another corridor. How far do you suppose they went in?

A nearby man shrugs As he hammers a torch into the wall.

I dunno. Hopefully as far as possible. Im putting this torch here to keep this area a bit illuminated. So the buggers won't sneak up on us from back there.

The path is well lit, and seems that a lot of tracks go down it, though after a while the tracks stop, one of the men cautiously moves forward until he hits something he can't quite see, a moment latera green shimmer is seen as a large slime tendril grabs onto the man's hand and begins to pull him into it, his hand quickly beginning to melt away, as he starts to get dragged in, a ghostly figure of a young woman in nun attire quickly yanks him free, before turning to the group.

I would not go this way. Lots of large acid blobs down it. The middle path is also dangerous- it has a lot of shades and undead, while the right path, as you have seen yourself have tiyanaks-those demonic babies. I do not think you men are very well prepared for this trip. Only one of you has a blessed weapon.

The woman bows her head

Oh my apologies, being dead must have hurt my manners, I am Ellen G. Panselo. Your Charles Teach correct? I am a friend of your brother Jack. Heard of some nasty stuff happening here, and I thought id come check it out. Quite the horror show deeper into this vile place.

Aye, I am. It is quite vile in here. Do you perhaps have any idea of where the cultists went?

Ellen nods

They are hidden in the deepest part of the cavern, in the catacomb. I believe they are attempting to acquire lichdom-which really should be prevented. All 3 paths lead to the same place. But all 3 have different obstacles. This path is full of slimes that can melt flesh and steel with ease. One careless slip or good hit in the face and your dead-and it seems none of you have any good blunt weapons to kill them with-so I do not recommend that path. The middle has a lot of zombies, ghosts and ghouls. But, none of you save for you Charles has any weapons that could hurt a ghost-so I also do not recommend the middle path.

However, the third path, the first one you tried would be the best option for you. It has 2 types of monsters. The tiyanaks or demon babies, and further in kuntilanak. I won't trouble you with all the grisly details but for a long story short- Tiyanaks are babies who died at birth and were never named. Kuntilinaks are mothers who died giving birth. Based on the large number of them in these caves I believe this cult had a hand in making them.

Thankfully, there is a simple way to deal with both. When you see the children, simply look at them and give them a name. And they are put to rest. For the mothers, simply give them the children we pacify and that in turn will calm them. Then its a simple walk to the deeper lair. Unless you would prefer the harder paths.

Ellen smiles back and nods

Don't mention it. Helping folks is sort of what I do. Thankfully I learned quite a lot during my life about all sorts of monsters and how to handle them.

Ellen looks a bit upset as she floats forward with them as she continues speaking

And yet I end up dying cause I let down my guard for half a bloody second and got a sword in my heart. I always pictured a more heroic death. Or an old happy one. Oh well what's done is done. Honestly being a ghost is rather fun sometimes. Ill go along and help you lads out a bit more if you don't mind.
