Could you make it possible to sell a plantation? You can get the 100 creds back but the money you earned from the plantation is taken away plus the cost of rent

That seems a little... Ridiculous to me. That's just me though. Get your 100 credits back but give up money earned and rent?

The 100 credits spent is supposed to be a gate of sorts that keeps those that can't afford it out and keeps those that can afford it in by forcing them to basically lose 100 credits for nothing if they choose to abandon it.

Asking for the credits back and a willingness to give up profits shows that you didn't really have much business trying to run a plantation imo.

You shouldn't be spending anything you aren't willing to lose altogether. This was an investment. If you want to abandon said investment you are more than welcome able to, but getting your credits back I don't think is an option.

Other issue is that construction permits are forever, unless I'm mistaken about that. It's a one and done permit. When you buy it, you have it from then on out. Correct me if that's wrong. Even if you don't want to use it right now, you might as well chalk the construction permit up as a loss and take advantage of it in the future when you feel you are able and/or want to try plantations on for size.

You assume the plantation will ever work properly or that we will ever be privy to what does what to achieve whatever...

It's not a good idea to have lots of plantation, you wouldn't have the gold to keep improving each of them. Mine 1 alone already cost me 10 million each day.

Never said it would. Said he might as well keep the permit and try later since I don't think he can get credits back. Even if he never does, he always has the option open to him.

What they could possibly do is allow players to buy, sell, and/or trade their own operating permits to others for either credits or whatever they want, but that's extremely iffy as well. The permits aren't meant to be commodities that are traded; they are supposed to be barriers to entry. Having the ability to trade/get rid of them and recoup some of the loss defeats the purpose in one sense, although that may be a very limited view of permits and I may be missing something.

You're paying a premium for a service that in its current setup and with the limited player knowledge is just a massive sinkhole. I'd like to know how much gc, gbs, and credits have been sunk since the start. I'm sure the amount is astronomical.

I can tell you the numbers I have sunk in are ridiculous relative to what I should be doing. But alas, the one spending to research something always pays the most for it, as everyone else just takes their work. :P

it was ingenious in how it was presented...limited land (always) tremendous upside (possibly maybe) get yours before it's gone! (urgency)

of course, it would have been a bit better if it worked. now all there is are a bunch of 30's era dustbowl farms with angry sick workers waiting to catch a disease...wait, lateral to pirate zombies! ^^

Honestly I was so tempted to start a plantation but decided instead to wait. Really glad I did that, as from the sound of it, it seems like plantations are similar to goldsmiths and banks. Astronomical costs, and will take ages to pay for itself if it ever does.
