As Griefing in Pirates Glory, we define the act to irritate or anger another player. This in PG, commonly happens via the attempted destruction of the gameplay of another player.
Griefing a player for an unjust action your player suffered, as you perceive it, is legitimate.
If your player wants to react badly to an attack, it is your right.
However, Griefing can fall into one of the most fundamental rules in the game:
You must play your account to its own FULL benefit.
This can commonly happen when your attempted griefing drags on in aspects of time. Time is the most crucial factor when we describe Extended Griefing. The weight of the response in combination with time can play a role when judging a case. Ultimately though, it always boils down to the fundamental rule above.
Common examples of Extended griefing:
-Griefing someone for social reasons (something he said to you, something you dislike about him based on his behavior).
-Griefing someone for competitive reasons when he is unable to respond (driving him out of the game).
General Guidelines, in terms of gameplay:
-When responding to someone for the first time, always allow some breath time to the victim. This means that you should not target him extensively.
-If during the "breath time", the victim finds time to attack back, then this is not a griefing case, this is a war. War is welcomed.
-If your account is consistently losing against an opponent (do not count what the opponent loses or if he loses more, count what you lose) and you keep attacking him, then this is a griefing case.
-No matter what, if any of the accounts, manages to profit from a case, then this is not a griefing one.
To summarize, we have never took an action in regards to this rule. We do not want to interfere at such level. We prefer that players find ways to solve such cases on their own. We believe that the true cases of extended griefing cannot be more than the fingers of one hand. However, we do have the utmost interest to keep the competitive level of the game to a good level. A competitive level where players will resolve their issues with honor. A competitive level where there will be respect for the other player. Now pirates do not care for honor or respect but their owners (this is you) should do. So you can roleplay profit and fear in replacement, respectively if honor and respect is not good enough for your pirate.
