George shrugs.

Ill just tell them your an experience commander who will be leading us for the next battle or 2. If they ask me who exactly you are, ill just say its Commander Jack. Wont be a lie then. Besides your dressed the part already.

All the men are gathered, and divided into companies and battalions, Ellen and Emily stay behind to tend to any injured, while Adam, Patrick and George each man a battalion. Raven is given command of a large company and They all stand at the ready for Jack's orders. Scouts come back and give him detailed reports of what the defenses are and where the king is believed to be located.

Raven arms himself for the battle, he stops and looks up

Jack stands before them, his arms crossed, he looks to the men.

a battalion is 300-800 men and a company 80-150. But if you want exact numbers, lets say that each brigade will be 600 men, with 4 companies each 150 men. so 2400 men. Any other details you need to know?

Most of the men just kind of shrug with one of the company leaders telling Jack.

Well most of us are navy, so we are not very experienced in land battles at all, but most of us are decent at stealth operations at sea. So doing stealth on land can't be too different.

Oh, lol. Ill post that for you.

The scout hands Jack a map with markings on it. He then says to him in a quick but clear voice.

Alright now, we noticed that the king is believed to be in his Castle just north of London, we couldn't get numbers on the castle but its at least 300 men. London itself has a fairly large battalion about 800 men, along with militia that we couldn't get numbers on-at least a thousand. West of London is 2 battalions, and east of it is just half a battalion. The best thing we can do, is to try to break through the east, hit the castle and capture Kitani. We also need to make sure they don't flank us. We could also try to head far west, and go around the 2 battalions but that would take quite some time and a lot of marching. Admiral Patrick told us that the Irish are launching attacks on the Soldiers in Ireland and even hitting northern Britain, so we have a good amount of time before any help will come for the British, and if we are lucky the Irish might win and come help-but if they lose then we face more british, so I don't think we should rely on potential Reinforcements. The French might also send more troops but again, its only a possibility not guaranteed.

The terrain will be mostly plains, and forests. I don't think Britain has many mountains. No cavalry since no one brought horses-and artillery will be your rockets and some mortars. The French as they said earlier didn't think they would make it as far as they did.

There are some ways I thought of, we could pretend to be reinforcement, then sack the city from inside. Another is that we smash the smaller battalion, then draw the bigger one into the woods, where we burns them. The castle is the toughest part, maybe stay a few days to build ladders, it could get a few men over.

The 3 battalion commanders are assigning the most capable men into leaders of companies, then platoons then squads. They all put on some camoflauge and begin to move out silently and spread out. Brian quickly grabs Jack by his arm and says to him quietly

Mate hate to bother you, but Emily wanted me to tell you that she has something that could help you out.

Brian takes out a bottle with a white mist inside it and hands it to Jack.

She said this here potion, when thrown upon breaking will release a really large cloud of fog, that will cover most of an army for about an hour. So you might want to use it to help with your stealth. I will be back here doing errands for Emily and Ellen, to help them out.

He just about leaves before remembering something else. He turns to Jack and hands him a blood red cross made of metal.

Ellen wanted me to give you that, its a charm she's had for ages, says it helps bring good luck and blessings. Though she said she wants it back when the fight is over. Good luck mate.

Brian heads back to the tent as he shouts one last time.

Send any injured back here, and we will try to patch them up.
