The kraken suddenly attacks again. But something bites it and drags it underwater...

Kaipur stands at the top of the stairs and shouts down it.

Mates, unless you have a serious surplus of ammunition and powder down there, i recommend you don't waste shots when the beastie is underwater. Especially since something bigger has just showed up.

[Jack Teach]

Jack yells back up

I suggest we leave now! Mates, we don't have enough shot to fight this bloody thing.

To where?

Anywhere damnit!

Kaipur looks out as he sees small remains of the Kraken float bleeding ink. Something very big ate most of it and it seems to still be hungry. He shouts.

I suggest we split up into 2 groups. One head NE the other NW. that way at least one group will have a better chance of survival.

A few of the men shout that they cannot swim. Kaipur shouts back.

Then we split into 3 groups. Those who cannot swim or would prefer not to risk it stay here and can try to fight it or just hide, and the rest of us can try to leave. Unless anyone has a better idea.

John moves back up the stairs onto the first floor and assesses the damage. John starts issuing orders.

Belay that.

Pull those cannons back from the windows. Any gunpowder that we have left up here move down into the cellar. Jack's men will take it down to the other guns. Shore up the windows. I want two spotters on the second floor and a relay man on the stairs, everyone else congregate towards the rear of the building. Keep your distance from the walls and windows.

Looks over at Kaipur

Keep every as calm as you can. As you have suggested separate into groups, but remain in the building for now. We don't know if that second beast is after us. I have a suspicion and want to confirm it before we run out of here, like a chicken with its head cut off.

Yells down toward Jack

Jack, prepare a final shot for the guns below. Make sure they are all loaded and ready to fire. Once done, bring your men up and get ready to move.

Turns to the cloaked man

There is more to this than you are telling us. What was that other beast, and more importantly is it also after us? Who was the Kraken after, and why?

[Jack Teach]

The men look at jack, as they only take orders from him.

Aye me boys do as he says! Load up a final shot, double shot! (they some times put 2 cannonballs in one cannon)

The men load up the guns.

Now, get upstairs now! Move!

Jack and his men quickly move upstairs

Kaipur has calmed most of the others down. Some with a drink from one of his flasks, and others with a quick prayer. He sorts them into 3 groups trying to keep things balanced. He also takes some rope and has them pair off into pairs to support each other, and give them all daggers to cut the rope should one of the pair die to prevent dead weight. He then stands by waiting for whatever may come next.
