This conflict will only get messier and if you don't want to be a part of it go the path of Blappleberry or Hector Barbossa. If you do so we will avoid continuing to target you due to your affiliate nation. There is no expiration date for this offer, but to do not expect to get off Scott Free if you attack us before you leave.

This is something that I hate about the game. You can blackmail and threaten people with nearly no obstruction.
A lesser player would simply abondanon the game than bother. I don’t see how this kind of behavior help the game in anyway.

Nothing against you Gregor but I saw these kind of threats many times during my years

I did not mean it as a threat, rather an offering to those who are not active participants in the politics of the USA or who would rather pursue greener pastures than be caught in the crossfire. We are also not enlarge targeting the kinds of players who have only recently joined the game. This conflict, on both sides, should avoid the targeting of new players to the game.

In my experience, one of the reasons new players leave is not that they get attacked, but that many guilds do little to nothing to protect them when they are attacked. I've lost count of how many times newer players are left lit up or cursed because, it would seem, senior members dont think them worth spending cleaners on. That sense of being considered not worth it stays with a newbie. Contra-wise, a newb who feels valued and protected is a damn sight more likely to stick around and develop into a skilled asset.

Now, there aint much a nation can do to cover those citizens who suffer attacks and losses due to nation wars, but guilds bear a responsibility too for their members and sadly, few seem to consider that.

Never thought of it that way. I typically saw using voodoo or giving loans to newbies as a big risk-if they leave then it was all wasted, But what you said makes a lot of sense. Think ill try to be a little more liberal on my helpful voodoo for newbs. thanks for the eye opener :beer

In unup if we see anyone lit up no matter how new of a player we clear then and fire back some payback on the attacker. Along with helping cover any losses

Aye, Mel : much of it will be wasted : its a steep learning curve and many get thrown off at the first bend.. to mix some metaphors... but none is wasted if you unearth the next CDV or Tom Lowe, or any of the other legends who grace our game, and you have already bound them to your guild with bonds of loyalty and trust : then, its damn cheap deal indeed :)

If a guild is going to recruit newbs, then its the guilds responsibility to protect and nurture them until they can stand fully in the line of battle : its not the enemies task to do that for you : their task is to destroy you, not allow you to get stronger. Newbs are fair game in war : a newbs cleaner cast on a target works just the same as a veterans : a newbs fugi cast on you lights up your fleets just the same : a newbs gennie or forced labour adds the same coins to a low purse, saving ships from loss.

As a guild, if you cant protect them, dont recruit them, especially if your guild is aggressive or in regular conflict.

If anyone does unearth a CDV, please return it to me. I will give a 10 mil gc reward for your efforts.
What? You were not talking about my buried treasure? My bad. :$

But seriously, I am honored to be even mentioned among the legends. Thank you Danik.
