I am not saying they have to, I was just questioning the move. Since I joined the game Spain has always controlled 5 ports and i was told by Spanish counsel a few times, that they chose to reduce their ports to 5 and keep it there (From the time when they held more). I was just asking a question if they are now going to fully defend a 6th port.
Where this sits ill with me and some, is we wanted more diversity in the map. If we didn't we would have just tried to keep and run 9 ports. I am sure with the group that merged we would have been successful. We "gave" the port away for FREE to see a new nation blossom and grow. This nation has had its struggles yes, but with other small nations. I am safe to say there is no love lost between some Montenegro players and Grenada players. This is where some of the main struggle comes from.
In terms of history, there was a long time that Bermuda owned almost every port. Spain and Bermuda were the port control powers for a long time. The desire for more flags is partially in response to one nation holding over half the map and only one (or possibly two, my mind is foggy right now) nation holding the rest.
What we have is a lot better than what it was in terms of parity of port control, in my opinion. What it will be tomorrow... who knows.

If my memory seves me right bermuda never owned more than 4 ports... in brief history of bermuda that I am familiar with bermuda owned neapolis, akroitiri, kanoni and regis for short ammount of time until fox vs mexico war was goimg... Bermuda attempted on takeover of Aiora and hel it for 1 day only because it haf low influence similiar to Bonaire vs Spain Hannes incident... after losing all 3 ports bermuda regained kanoni and neapolis then took over the new land and gave up on akroitiri so please fill me in when bermuda owned half the map?
