Coincidence, Cowardise or Both?

Postby Shadowood » Mon Jul 24, 2017 3:14 pm

On the day 1749, the United Kingdom and Grenada entered into a port truce. This truce was to last a period of 30 days.

At reset today, this truce is up. I see that the leading members of Grenada have chosen to join the great nation of Spain. I ask is this coincidence or cowardice or a bit of both?

How will this play out? This will give Spain 6 ports, which is 1 more than they have "chosen" to keep all these years. Maybe Spanish counsel can shed some light on this matter as well. They are more then in their right to hold 6 ports, I am just curious.

If they choose to keep 6 ports, how will this sit with St Kitts counsel who freely gave 3 ports to new nations to add to a more diverse map. Only to see 1 of the ports go to a leading nation so soon after the "contract" was up.

I for one do not like it and am openly opposing it.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

Just voicing my opinion and asking a few good questions.

Egypt and IoM didn't come together to give a port to Spain.

Again, I am against this move. But that is just me.

Ports come and go, mostly with the same folk who owned them before, they change flags, then change them again, join with others, create new flags, leave, etc, etc...
I wonder if when you combined IoM and Egypt to create St Kitts you worried about there being two less flags on the map afterwards? Thats no criticism, just the way it works when individuals largely decide where a port goes. Oft times, the 'recieving' nation knows no more about it than you seem to and have no more power to stop the process than you do.
Maybe the problem is the small nation running its single port is the 'wrong' nation as far as you are concerned, being controlled by the wrong people : did St Kitts guarantee of protection expire then? Or did it only apply to the 'right' sort of small nation : one controlled by players that knew their place and didnt get any silly ideas about defending themself from assorted predatory guilds, who ever seem distressed by the inability of so many to understand they are farms, so shut up and hand over the taxes and please stop wasting our time making us attack you to get them... seriously, this game has problems... the sooner we get proper nations in place so all can line up neatly as vassals and the mighty lords of battle can just clip their diplomatic coupons the better, why, maybe we can all get back to fighting...oooh, aar.... matron.

Mexico didnt hand Regis to Egypt so Egypt could hand it to St Kitts : but once the port is gone, its gone : its outwith that level of control. If you want to retain ownership rights, then dont give up ownership. Give up ownership and it aint yours to argue about anymore.

World would be a lot better if you used short, sweet, simple sentences. ;)

The Ramblings of Danik are quite detailed and entertaining. Short and sweet wouldn't be as humorous.

The world would be better if I was drunk : but I am not so... long sentences are the sad result of such a pitiful state of sobriety. Believe me, its much worse on this side of my current reality state....
