If you look at the beginning of the war before we joined be basically sent resorces to Britan and the Soviet Union for them to fight Germany while we just sat aside but after we got directly involved the US.

I wouldn't say the US is the richest nation in the world considering how large the national debt is. Nor do we have the largest army. Granted with all the money spent on the military budget we have good equipment and weapons. so we have a pretty high tech army. Also while we did help win WW2, we were not the sole reason the allies won. The Brits and Russians fought tooth and nail, and were relentless, and hitler was quite the idiot for constantly ignoring his generals advice

Finally... A person thats not an americanist...

I love America, and I love the city and state I live in, but its far from perfect, but we are far better off then many other countries. but some countries do have us beat in certain area. Honestly I think if we put less money into our military and more into other areas we would be far better off. I mean its not like we need much of an army given our geography. We have 2 oceans on our sides, and our only 2 neighbors pose no threat to us. We just need a good naval force on both sides and we are well protected.
