That's a very bad way to come to a very dangerous assumption. Do not count game activity by votes in the forum. What you can only count is the players interested in the event. That's the only safe assumption and still not very true as there might be interested players who might miss it.
Also, 5 days of voting is not enough. There should have been at least 7 but it wouldn't make a big difference.
Take in mind that not everyone is forum-happy. That's why such events are good; because they encourage people to participate (we got a special achievement called Community Motivator for a reason).
The 105 votes so far are good and Shadowood should be very happy for coming up with an event that is so popular.

To back up my arguments, think of the following:
-There are 105 votes here and 84 posts, but how many posts from different people?
-There are 1957 views, do you think that all who viewed this topic voted?
-How many are the different posters every day at the forum?
-Yet, how many are active only in your guild?
See how diverse all these are.
If you want official data, there are 7,183 characters. These are characters that you cannot delete as they are either on a short inactivity row or vital parts of the game for different reasons.
With more strict standard 2,938 can be considered active.
If you want to find the core active members, you only need to get the active number of players of each guild. These constitute a big percentage of the
core playerbase.
This
core playerbase has increased by at least 30% since last draft.
I think you can guess which is the best way to increase further this kind of playerbase: through newcomers recruiting in guilds. That's the best existing way.
