Current numbers, as you can see we dont have much shipwreck left. What do you think is it possible to see 0 shipwrecks if yes when?

451 shipwrecks now
749 shipwrecks yesterday

There may be 0 shipwrecks at some point, but not for long. New ships will continue to sink. We will reach zero only if some of the shipwreck hunters really want us to, as I believe we will soon reach the point where returning to ordinary trade will be more beneficial for them.

already most of the traders turned back to trading. since numbers really less to find and hunt them, its pointless at this point for most of the players. Question is will we get 0 point before march:)

I doubt we will get to zero : currently, most of the ports return a zero wrecks message : a few are still giving results but once cleared, its a big job to keep checking thru 21 ports for any new sinkings : having 21 fleets just looking but mostly not finding would be uneconomic : I can see it being useful for chasing higher-value fresh sinkings but as a career path, its pretty much dead.

Question: In order to find a shipwreck, does it have to exist prior to the START of the search, or is it sufficient that it exists when the search ends?

when the search ends shipwreck needs to be there. someone faster than you may steal it from you.

But testing it wont be much difficult. choose a dried port. send a fleet for hunt. after sent sink a ship in that port. and after sink instant travel and wait for results:) if you will get that sunk ship than its count ending time. if you wont get anything first use rotten food on that fleet to see if someone else took it. no active ships means it need to be sunk before hunt start;)

What I want to know, is if I can do the following:

I set a fleet or two to hunt for shiwrecks in a port. Just before the hunt ends, I sink a ship in that port. My fleets may then find and salvage that ship.

Is this possible, or does the shipwreck need to be at the sea bottom BEFORE my fleets start hunting for shipwrecks?

A very good question : I guess it depends on how the coding has been done : does the 12hr countdown happen before the 'search', or is the result calculated then the count-down starts before the result is 'published' : I've played games in which the latter happens : in one, due to lag, the 'random prize' would often appear in your stats before the 'wheel of fortune' had stopped 'spinning'. But folk still swore they could influence the result by clicking in certain places on the wheel : triumph of hope over reality...

i edited and explained on my other post how you can find out:) it will cost you 1 ship to sink and 30 turns to spend:P actually it will cost 60 turns. because at first you should make sure the port is dry

Why not try it? A positive hunt would prove the possibility : a negative result would imply otherwise.
