Is there a general rule on how many times you should plunder

Postby Banger » Fri Feb 17, 2017 5:46 pm

Is there game etiquette that kind of dictates how many times you should "farm" someone in a row? Just curious, don't want to piss anyone off.

Plunder in groups of 3's.

You gain 6 danger for each attack. You lose 18 danger per attack received.

After that, just do the math on what is acceptable in loses on return hits and/or retaliation

Also, make sure to keep enough gold in your "purse" (the visible number that you see) to make sure that you do not lose ships if your danger does get high. Otherwise, Shadowood has a good general rule. Feel free to personal message me for more tips (37547).

I agree with the live and learn.. But if you are a pirate mate, never apologize for an attack. Its what you do. It is a pirate game after all.

Every one running trade ships knows they will get hit at some point. It is just up to you as the attacker to decide how much you want to hit. Again, you will need to way the risk/reward of your target. Some will hit back, others simply take it as an acceptable lose in their business plan.

For the most part, anyone you see on the plunder board is fair game. most players tend to not mind to much so long as you didn't use voodoo to light them up, but like Mugiwara said, some players are more lenient then others. There have been times ive hit someone I saw on the board several times and they didn't mind too much, and times ive hit someone once or twice and they retaliated. try to keep track either by a mental list, or an actual list of how certain players react, and be sure to avoid the ones who are particularly vengeful.

Personally I wage reward and price... I don't mind skirmishes as long as they are in normal numbers but if I see player aiming exclusivly my fleets on skirmiah list I tend to retaliet with attacks but you can be sure that I won't go over 3 attacks per player per 24 hrs if they are on plunder board of course it changes if voodoo is involved... But it's not written rule it's just that people often go 3 attacks 1 defend that way they are in positive if they choose targets smart... I tend to attack some fleets to test things so that I can improve quality overall... those fights are 50:50 and I do those when I wage price for knowladge which I will recieve

Hit 'em until they beg for mercy, I say! Bleed them dry. After that, give them time to build back up - then hit them again!

Depends on your style of game play. As others have said, players listed on the plunder screen are fair game. My personal rule is to refrain from plundering any single player more than 3 times in a day.

If you are in a guild, check with them as they may have rules/guidelines on plundering.
