Port Traits

Any game related discussion can take place here. Examples: Discuss about how bad the merchant rates have been lately, how rich you have became by following this specific strategy which now needs to stop etc etc

agreed, although I will, note civil structures would be an investment worth defending, just not attacking for, unless your goal is just to harm your opponent.

exactly why I suggested that items that add value to a port come first, followed by new ways to attack and defend, then finally, port traits or port management in that order of priority.

unless all at the same time in the near future is an option.

There are a lot of nice informations and feedbacks in this topic. I would like to put a few words in it.

Deznutz already suggested Morale effect for fort buildings. it may have some usages.

Actually i was thinking on a law suggestion to increase population.
Decrease tax amount to %50 will give you daily %0,2 of your ports total pop or increase tax amount to %70 will daily decrease %0,2 of your port's total pop.
We can change this due to loyalty and corruption level.
more loyalty means more tax income and % pop increase.
more corruption means less tax income and % pop decrease.

Also when your nation's loyalty high you will get more influence through build up ports and voodoos but when your nations corruption high you will get less influence through build up ports and voodoos.

To make naval combats effect port holding.
When you get skirmished or attacked in controlled ports your nation's corruption will increase. And Winning fights in controlled ports(especially against nations at war) will increase happiness and loyalty.

But in my opinion for make better and accured suggestions about this topic first we should get port buildings. Because i feel port buildings will strongly shape this suggestion. Having control or losing control of port buildings will effect your nation's loyalty.

I believe I suggested the option to change the tax collected off of port population, so that by reducing it boosts the effects of population growth and increasing decreases growth. id have to dig it up, but ill check.
