Changelog Discussion

Any game related discussion can take place here. Examples: Discuss about how bad the merchant rates have been lately, how rich you have became by following this specific strategy which now needs to stop etc etc

-1 on 600 turns max. Hurts a lot if things, not just those trying to run large raids, for gc, or capping ships. I can see it hurting port control activities also. If a limit must be imposed it should not be so restrictive. I could be happy with Johns recomended 1000. I saw no prior discussion about this, and notice it got slipped in during a holiday.

You can still start with 600, spend the first 200 and get another 200. So, it is effectively 800 per run which are already too many but I think that we can allow it. Having to conduct strategies for both attacker and defender at maximum 800 turns, is something we can accept.

With the previous standards, which were never meant but rather allowed, one could simply stack some thousands of turns and simply bend any strategy. This is not something we will allow.

There are no restrictions for Self Sacrifice but now that you told about it, we will limit them as well.

We have not removed any turns by the way, which means that anyone who already stockpiled turns, he gets to keep them.

Finally, some things are not negotiable. Usually, critical things like this one. Expecting a discussion on everything, is unrealistic.

So basically, you just told us you do not care of our opinions on this one?...

Say it as it is.

I still believe, 1000 turns is the best way to go about limiting the turns.

600 + 200 = 800
I do not see great difference to your proposal. Our limit is still 200 turns higher than an unprepared enemy and 400 to 600 higher than someone who has used his turns/packs.

I can see that a prior discussion on this might have resulted in a lot of turn stockpiling in preparation for this update. Why is the strickness of the limit so critical?

Well, I've done some sums, and counted turns needed, etc, etc.. and my conclusion is that SoL and Mows are now safe from being stolen by the single raider (unless they have been softened up and their purse reduced by another first, or they are supremely careless) : its going to need at least 2 players working in unison using all their turns to grab anything worthwhile : which raises the point, is such a use of resources worth it when you cant recover the proceeds quickly, but must invest more in protecting your ill-gotten gains for a period afterwards? I'd say, not really.

So, how does one punish one who has offended you with say, unremitting attacks, or nation/port conflicts and all that can happen in the game? De-fleeting ceases to be a viable option. Which leaves destruction as the only weapon left. I'll be stockpiling Levi's then : not to burn tails in pointless efforts to grab their ships : I'll just sink the buggers instead : its lot cheaper in turns.

Well 800 turns is fine and dandy - If you want to put the ships in mariner, but with the 'cool-down' suggestion - It will be near impossible to store the turns and keep your defenses up.

+1 To what Danik states.

To modify LT's motto :

'If you can't beat them, steal them : if you can't steal them, sink them'
