I would hope someone would be fair and not select the team they are put in if there is a better team assembled.

you know, a way we could prevent this is when the poll is up, let everyone have 2 votes. that way even if your biased towards your own team, you will still be voting for another.

in the polls you can only vote once for an option. giving 2 votes simply means you can use one vote for 2 different options. if the poll only allows one vote, then people who are biased towards their own group will spend their one vote on their team. but allowing 2 votes, they may vote for themselves, but their second vote would have to go to another team.
as for building on my idea to give even more votes, that would be pointless, since my suggestions was to make sure people would not spend their one vote on themselves.

Would it not be easier simply to tell everyone to NOT vote on "their own" team? So if you're drafted, you'll have to vote for another team. Of course, some may take that as an incentive to NOT vot, but I hardly think that will happen in an event like this

I find if unfair if we say those who are drafted can not vote for their own team. since someone may genuinely believe their team is the best. and those who are left undrafted may have a hard time choosing one team that they believe is the best.
giving everyone 2 votes, I believe will help. but that is just my opinion and I wont say my suggestion is without flaws of its own. regardless I look forward to the rest of this event.

i hate it that most of these names are unknown to me!
but it is still intriguing and fascinating.
when i browse the plunder and gossip pages i am looking for these names. a low number whose not drafted? cannot be that dangerous

on the list but with high id, hm, maybe give that fleet right of way, that player must be something to make an impression on one of these ancients!

the only reason I can think of where you wouldn't use your 2nd vote is if you wanna be rather petty and only give a vote to your own team, and not bother giving one to another to gain a slight advantage. granted we would be able to tell if someone doesn't use their second vote, since it would end up making an odd number of votes. unless multiple people do so. but then you could probably tell by a low total. depending how many do so. but I still think giving 2 votes would be more beneficial then harmful. these teams are well formed thus far, and I certainly wouldn't mind being able to pick 2 instead of 1.
