Isn't losing a battle on purpose against the rules?

If so then you fall at the very first hurdle.

Just because your gold is low doesn't necessarily mean you will lose.

I attack 5 flag galleons with 2 frigates and win.

But by dropping your gold to zero and then skirmishing it is evident that you are doing it to lose the ship, by instantly commandeering it back you prove it was preplanned and not caused by accident.

We all lose when attacking enemy fleets, it can be that there tougher or a mere oversight on your own part, however i'd say prepping commandeer and dropping your gold to 0 is not a mere oversight and is a manipulation of game mechanics.

It can go either way honestly. I can see why people would think its manipulation, as one side is manipulating his danger, but its not a prearranged battle, as one side is not aware of it. After all its not against the rules to plan a attack on another player, but if your goal was to lose your ships and take them back to clear danger, it might be considered exploiting the game, but since you ARE using voodoo and it is costing you to use this strategy I think its a legit strategy.

First off, I would like to say this is certainly danger manipulation. Just as the voodoo card "Hideout" is danger manipulation (Effect: Reduce target fleet danger by up to 18 points).

Is it cheating though? Definitely not. There is no pre-planned battles between two parties, and no break of any rules listed. The player who utilizes this strategy is only manipulating his own assets, and taking advantage of the game mechanics as they are. Something which I will always be a huge supporter of.

Now, should this strategy be possible? I don't know lol. I don't know if players should be able to takeover nations without any actual combat, but as it stands it is possible. If these things indeed should not be allowed though, then that calls for a change of game mechanics. Not restrictions on the innovative players who just want to rule the world.
