Note, the hired people will also add to the total daily upkeep as crew.

So, if you have 1 mill people protect a sector, and each crew cost 5 gc on daily up keep, you will need to pay 5 mill each day.

And influence will still be needed, for hiring crew.

If this is indeed added into the game, new technology and voodoo can become something, eg. Better weapons technology and maybe, hired arms voodoo.

And the influence system may have to change a bit too.

Give me on what you think about this, (Go away hijackers).

Buildings like, factory, junkyard, ship yard, farms, fishery, iron mines, Grape refinery.

Farms will be on food ports, and grape refinery on rum port.

Lets say, they give 2500 food/rum per hour, and they are free, this means that if you transport the stuff to another port and use party voodoo, you will gain pure profit.

To that one guy who says that this only makes rich people more powerful/richer, there is 21 port in the game, if each port have 10 sectors, that means there is 210 sectors all together, so maybe even a weak player can have one or two of the sectors.

-1 Amphibious assaults with "armies" technically ties into a seafaring game, but I'm going to say no. While it adds an interesting perspective to wars, if this was ever considered, I think that all seafaring options and expansions would have to be all but implemented and this be the only path left to take in game expansion.

Not sure what seafaring game is but let me look it up, well, this is a seafaring game, so not sure why you say that.

I said it because while your idea very generally relates to this style of game, I don't think this should be considered until all other feasible expansions of the existing infrastructure have been implemented or exhausted as options.

It really does not matter what I think about this as if it fits into the general plan that the devs have laid out, they may consider parts or all of it and if it does not, they will not.
It would do you good to browse through some older idea's on this topic to give yourself some background to what the devs have considered many months and years ago. The path the game is going to take has been decided and approved long before you and I ever joined up.
Not that your idea is good or bad, but if it does not fit to the BIG PICTURE, I'm not going to spend a lot of time considering it.

Right now, the way to attack a port is with influence or voodoo, and to tell you the truth, people is just spamming voodoo on the ports, so this is a better way to ACTUALLY attacking a port.

Farmville 3!

Merchant's Glory? :P

Sounds about right. Merchants farm port goods and pirates farm merchants for ships and gold. Farmville on water.

We should rename the game to pirate gang wars then
