If Spain were to attack the USA, we would be forced to defend ourselves using all means available. Do not mistake a desire to end hostility as weakness. The only beneficiaries of war are those not involved in the war and the mercenaries.

Probably be useful then to approach all the nations and guilds attacked by your nation under its former leadership and enquire as to how best to approach a peaceful solution. Seems to me, your nation and its citizens was happy to benefit from the results of its aggressions : it would be approaching an insane level of hopefulness to expect the victims of that aggression to just shrug their shoulders and walk away bearing all the costs of the failure of your leaderships lunatic adventurism. Until then, I see no reason to trust the new leadership anymore than the old which also spoke of peace and non-aggressive intent, whilst it paid others to wield the knife and disclaimed all culpability.
