+1 to the 4 danger for a skirmish attack, sounds reasonable for the low value of the hit in reality. I believe Kart had it about right in his post also, we all need to adapt as the game develops, what works today may not be as good tomorrow

Pardon me if my math is old and rusty, but a non-AP plunder attack is max $250,000, right?

Pretty much every skirmish attack I try I get $50,000.

So really if the reward is to match the risk, the danger value should only be 1 or 2. 4 is still too high.

50,000? Where do you skirmish? I know you can get 20k per attack in a tool port...

Again Cappy, you have good points. A danger gain of 4 is based on only 1 plunder. Hardly a viable way to earn a living with 1 plunder/hour if you are trying to stay off the plunder board and avoid return hits.
Regardless, it is all conjecture on our part as we can only suggest ideas based on our observations.

As a side note, we do have to be careful going too far the other way as a skirmish of hundreds of thousands and millions is also possible if a gold bar fleet is hit and they will become more common as goldsmith's become more developed and become a way of income for some.

Get Friggy W/it (#42071) engaged 01 - Laevateinn (#54565) in the vicinity of Pania at 2015-08-20 13:55:50

You lost 242,539 gold coins!

Your fame decreased by 32,228!

This is pretty much when I gave up on skirmish:)

When I see a large purse, I start to drool as large purses are becoming more rare these days.
You are going to have to re-adjust your style to be profitable or at minimum, cut your losses.

I think at max, I have lost 7500 gc on a single skirmish against me.
Purse total is always a moving target these days as to how much to keep on hand to avoid losing too much on a skirmish or plunder but still having enough to make it difficult to allow your ships to be stolen.

Edit- I give you a pass in Pania as I see you lost enough already today.

Keep in mind this is my loss as the initiator of a losing skirmish attack!

Obviously a glitch.

Roberts, you haven't changed I see. Your pic of a sailor looks like a sodomite.

I'd have to check but I think you being the skirmish initiator, and then losing the battle, the battle formula goes back to the old rules of plunder. You would need a very healthy purse to lose almost max. allowable

Eh, I have noticed something about you Groggy : You only speak up a bad thing about someone when they do something wrong to you : Like yesterday, you attacked I dropped your Ship of the line to level 9 for you, that is how nice I am...

P.S : The picture of the sailor is actually meant to be A prime minister ( Forgot his name - Edit will be the name... )

What a startling accusation! I only speak bad of people who do bad to me...how irrational of me:)

Yes, I had a huge purse. Like Roberts likes to wear when he's not fondling that big sword of his.

Actually I had you and stan confused, his looks like a sodomite and yours looks like fat wind bag.
