when i look at notification settings, the box is already checked. does that mean i will continue to get the new player messages, or do i have to toggle something still? also, where did you start advertising, the influx of new names these past few days has been enormous....

The change affects only new players from that point after. All players before the change has not been affected. So whatever options you had, they have remained.

1.3.40: Governors are now smarter when selecting enemy countries for title missions.


We slightly improved the AI for Governors when selecting enemy countries. There is still much work to be done towards this direction. In the near future though, Nation councils will pick each possible target through a hidden to public law.

1.3.92: Self Sacrifice voodoo card now has 75% Piercing ability.


I would like to remind how piercing works. Piercing check is before Mindbar and Countercurse checks. If piercing is successful, then Mindbar is ignored. If piercing is unsuccessful, then there is the Mindbar/Countercurse check.

Here is an example:

Let's suppose Player(#1) has Mindbar up and Player(#2) casts Self Sacrifice.

First check is Piercing. It has 75% chance to get through. Let's suppose it fails to pierce.
Then it is verus the mindbar. There is still a 25% chance it will get through.


From the example above, we realize that Self Sacrifice will go through Mindbar is 81,25% of the time (8 out of 10 times). Due to this small difference, Piercing ability once embeded in offensive voodoo, will slightly increase the value of Countercurse.

Finally, a new way in how mindbar works will be introduced with Academy/Hideout. We will introduce overall resistance for a player which will be affected by a building, technologies plus Mindbar. Piercing can get a technology too. These plans are for the distant future.

Affects ONLY Fleets in automatic trade routes

There is no longer any discern for arrival or depart from the port. Instead, it will mention spotted.


Example:

00 Mins 52 Secs   Aetschi Baetsch 2(#42921) of  Fyren (#25721) has spotted.


Evil Hawk which is not a trade route movement, mentions departed.
Battle and Aetschi Baetsch 2, who are both trade routes, mention spotted.

With the old system, there would be something like this:

New system as a result, makes it cleaner to read while it saves us from a lot of "rubbish" data stored in the database.

The new way also allows players to detect players online as departed moves are guaranteed manual moves.

The only drawback, is that in case a trade route arriving at port is paused, the players will not be able to tell through Gossip. This sort of action is a strategy tip rarely used that is no longer possible. However, since we made Trade Master card to list such info, we believe that it is sorted out in a better way for all.

You mean if a trade route is paused then that fleet arriving will still be listed in the gossip as SPOTTED and not arrived ?

Yes. The drawback is that with old system you could see that it arrived but it has not left.

It's a shame, as noting a gathering of war-fleets from a certain group in one port was always a good indicator that 'something' was likely to kick off soonish...

That said, its good that the number of gossip events get halved, when the likes of Capt D hove into port with a zilllion fleets, it does kinda blanket all news of other movements for the week...

Unless I am mistaken, I believe this change to being "spotted" is only for fleets with a set up trade route. If there is no trade route defined it will still show up as arrived or departed thus still showing gatherings of war ships will it not?
