Flaming is expected here. If you are easily offended, avoid this thread all together.

I'll give a verbal warning this time to all involved.

Next, a quick word to the mods, please, do not handle your own reports, let another mod do that for you. This is a very important rule for mods to follow, and failure to do so can and will result in losing mod status. Verbal warning on this point too.

Third, mods, do not change or alter another mods decisions, if you feel they did something wrong, talk to them and me about it, and try to solve things by talking it out, rather then changing their decisions.

-Meliva

Just to make sure, I was responding to a post left on on-topic section. Do I receive a warning too?

Okay, so after some recent talking, and looking into things, the 2nd issue of mods changing another's actions was a misunderstanding, and has been resolved as far as I can tell. So disregard the 2nd issue I had in my earlier post. 1st issue still remains, do be careful not to mod your own issues and reports.

-Mel.

Edit- also in regards to clock asking about a warning, since it was a verbal warning given, and not an official one, not really a rule violation.

I was responding as you do...... I admit it may be a bit too much for you to understand being on the other side of it.

I didnt say you did anything.... I was stating in a passive aggressive way that discussion of bans, infractions or punishments is not allowed according to rules.

And since you stated earlier that the rules were so easy to find and that you yourself had no issue finding them and reading them, that maybe, since CW was obviously about to violate a rules, you had taken the time to explain the rules to him since he obviously did not have an understanding of the rules that you stated were so easily found and read by everyone.

...... sorry for the run-on sentence.

If you need further explanation I can break out the crayons.....

He asked if he was getting a warning, which means it had not occurred yet. So my point is valid. There was no knowledge at the time of the post if it would be a verbal or actual warning. Discussing actions taken by mods in an open forum email or pm is not allowed under current rules.

The fact that it was a verbal is immaterial.

That rule, to me at least, seems to apply to punishments that were given-not to asking if one is going to recieve a punishment. If you were to ask me in your next message "are you gonna ban me for X?" that isn't discussing a punishment, or ban that has happened, but merely asking a question if a punishment is going to be given.

I see. I wasn't online when that all occurred. Yes you aren't supposed to discuss violations in the open forum. I would agree with Mel, asking "are you going to give me a warning" would not fall under the rule of discussing moderator actions as the action hasn't occurred. It could however be interpreted as admin/mod baiting.

Discussion of in-game bans or punishments.

This includes, but is not limited to, in-game messages, emails and other conversations with the moderators and Community Administrator, considering any ban.

There is no ambiguity, no exceptions and no classification. Discussion of in game bans OR punishments.

Now I understand your discretion on what type, if any, "punishment" was justified or not, but the rule as written states it is not allowed to discus it in an open forum. I agree with you that this should be changed, but this is the rule right now.

I understand why the rule is in place.

My original post about it was to simply let him know that it is not allowed in the forum.

Mmm... to be thoroughly pedantic : under the wording of the rules.. reporting a violation of the rules is... a violation of the rules on discussing violations of the rules.

Yeah... I got a headache thinking about that too.
