RP Arena of Akrotiri

Postby Meliva » Sat Mar 27, 2021 2:55 am

Rules are as follows.

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6-Do not act on knowledge you know but your character doesn't- If for example Character A is being attacked in the tavern, and your character is in the church, you can't have your character suddenly rush to the tavern to help unless you can give a reason WHY he knows what is happening or he is rushing to the tavern.
7-if you have an objection to something, message the person directly first to resolve it.
8-Please do not decide things for other's characters without consulting them first. For example-don't say your character is my character's father, or lover, or anything without asking me first. Same for all folks. It puts them in an awkward spot.
9-keep things relevant to PG and pirates and their era and tech. So no aliens, or airplanes. Voodoo and magic are fine.
10-Try to have Fun.

The next post begins the story.

In the port of Akrotiri, at a large impressive albeit somewhat old looking Arena, a grand contest is being held. Various rewards, treasures and prizes are being offered to those who compete and win in the arena battles, hosted by a group known as The Shaper's Guild. Tickets are being sold by the thousands, and competitors from all over line up in anticipation to partake in glorious battles for fame, fortune and fun. At the gates of the arena, several robed figures stand at attention, watching people sign up and buy tickets while also offering services. The leader of them, a masked woman by the name of Vune oversees everything. Vune simply chuckles as she opens up a new line for contenders to sign up for the arena, as she shouts to the crowd cheerfully

Anyone brave enough to sign in for what is bound to be a great battle? Come on up and ask any questions you may have, before you sign up. Rewards for victory are simply amazing!

Gaster is lurking off to one side, his cold, faceted eyes surveying the crowd. The oddly dressed man with green hair strides up to Vune, a sick grin splitting his face.

Vune looks to him

Either ask questions, sign up, or walk away. I'm not looking for clowns as entertainment, though I can recommend a nice mask shop to cover up that mess of a face of yours's.

He tossed back his head, cackling.

Name's Arthur Fleck, lass, but most call me Joker. 2 things. 1, I'd love to sign up. But I doubt you want a clown like me in your competition. 2, I have inside information regarding Aiora, if you're willing to compensate me.

Vune just shrugs

I don't care who signs up to fight, no matter what the result may end up being, I still profit in multiple ways. I also already know what's happened in Aiora. I also already know what's coming here. Those issues do not matter to me. Other's will deal with them. I'm just running this arena for now. So either sign up, or get lost. I don't care which.

No, I mean I work for Dreadbolt. I'm practically his bloody right hand man.

He cackled, walking up to the sign up sheet, pulling a dark crimson quill from his coat, the tip already soaked in a thick red ink, likely blood. His handwriting was heavily ornamented, closer to calligraphy than anything. He simply wrote "Joker".

Vune just shrugs again

I know that. I don't need any inside info from you or anyone else. I know all I need to know already and then some. Other's will solve this problem. I meanwhile will run this arena. You also should know to read things before you just sign them. For all you know you just signed a contract to clean the arena outhouses. Regardless, just head into the arena. I will wait for more volunteers.

She looks to him and just points to Gaster

But if you REALLY want to blab info to someone, by all means, go talk to Gaster over there, or someone else who want's to get involved. I'm too old for this crap. This is my retirement after all.

He cackles.

As you wish, lass, as you wish.

He grinned eerily at Gaster, his tongue flicking out and licking his lips.Gaster stared down at him cooly and simply said.

After. I have very little patience, clown, and if you want to stay alive, you'll not waste my time.

The Joker shrugs, and turns to walk into the Arena, when he is joined by 2 men. One is horrifically disfigured, half of his face having been burnt off. The other is rather pale, and wore a dark green, pinstripe suit, with a dark green bowler hat. He held a cane, the top curved into something resembling a question mark. The other man wore a simple gray suit.

Aha, Riddler, Two-Face! Glad you could make it. Sign yourselves up right over there!

The two-faced man looked at the sign-up sheet, grinning darkly. He spoke, his voice raw and scratchy.

Says here you lose your soul if you lose. Well, we ain't got a whole soul between the three of us. How do ya like that, Missus Witch?

Vune shrugs

Doesn't matter what you lot do or do not have, or if you win or lose, I will come out ahead no matter what. Ticket sales, entertainment for myself, testing paid for by public demand, I gain so much no matter what happens, that it doesn't matter how a fight ends. If you lot die, soul or not, I get data, ticket sales, and your corpses should provide some benefits either as fertilizer, food for monsters, or magical experiments. So go on into the arena. Kill your foes, or die. Either works for me. When you're ready for a fight just go in and talk to the guard by the arena door. Once you go in, you either win, or die.
