Greetings all.

Its been a while since Daniks Finest Kind Ship-building and Valet Services have run this bit of fun so... here we are again.

Each day I shall be building and placing on the open market up to 5 spanking new Large Merchantmen : as always built to the highest standards and using only the best quality materials and constructed with the kind of skill only gathered through many years of experience, training and excessive rum consumption.

So what? I hear you cry... Aahaah! I reply : these aint any old ships for, in a crazed and somewhat casual manner, I shall load each with goodies : a random selection of fine cargo including shiny shiny Gold Bars! Some lucky souls will discover holds filled with the damn things!

But how will you know which ships on the market are blessed with such cargo? Tricky but here isa clue... such wealth requires protection so all Golden Geese will carry a full complement of cannon to guard them.

Now... it dont mean all ships listed with cannon aboard are Golden Geese...but those that aint wont be carrying this tasty bonus!

Complaints already! What about the poor misguided fools who sail galleons?, I am berated.

Well, what about them?... Okay...Okay... its possible the occasional Trade Galleon might accidentally fill its holds with 150 Shiny Shiny Bars then sneak out of my over-worked shipyard and onto the market... but not if I sober up first!

Same clues apply but dont hold yer breathe..

Those who sail galleons well buy LMMs take GB and then resell LMM win win situation

What madness lies down that path? Give up the chance to own one of the finest built ships in Avonmora? Verily it is widely known that any ship built by me has qualities above and beyond the run-of-the-mill coffin-ships produced by my competitors!

I offer as recommendation the plaintive mail recieved from one foolish pirate who lost a battle with one of my trade fleets back in the day : 'Why cant you just have ordinary ships?'

Nuff said...

What madness? If they don't see value in those ships they will sell them cheap and I will get my hands on those.

I hadn't even seen this thread, but I've been rebuilding my fleets for a while now after taking a break.
Imagine my delight when I discovered gold bars in a LMM I bought.
Will this drive up the price of LMMs ? Or will they get bought, stripped and recycled back onto the market cheap as Wolfie says?

Oh well...

Due to the imminent implementation of ship traits I'm going to suspend further ship-builds until I get a clearer notion of the new changes. These are going to be a bit of a game-changer, certainly for us shipbuilders and in the ship market.
