Yah, what Shadowood said!

Actually bounties can be of use to newbs.
They get practice at casting voodoo on targets.
Involvement in game mechanics.
They collect some gold coin.
Then they get to learn what retaliation means :xx

I agree. Bounties can be helpful for newbs in gaining experience, but it being done at a significant loss before the retaliation isn't.

I don't agree. It's not any help to newbie to let them waste a valuable voodoo for a cheap bounty. Besides they'd have to suffer the inevitable retaliation.

I have a suspect about all these cheap bounties.

Anyway one possible solution is to raise the minimum bounty from 10,000 to 100,000 and bounties increase steps from 5,000 to 50,000 at least.

Also another thing to do would be to add an explanation for voodoo bounties, something like "you are placing a bounty of X gold on a voodoo that worths Y on card market. Are you really really sure?"
Y would be easily calculable from average credits price (from voodoo market) times average credit value (from credits exchange).

Also raising turns needed to place a bounty from 3 to (at least) 10.

Also raising the fee from 3% to (at least) 6%. AND to add another fee for bounties that no one claimed: only HALF of the amount returns to who placed them.

I think that another option is to forbid placing a voodoo bounty that is less than a % from its actual market value. How much should this % is open to debate (I'd suggest something between 30-50%).

I agree cheap bounties are dumb and really of no benefit. I definitely +1 some bounty reform

"You begin using the voodoo curse Hands of Gold on System (#10) !

Labor prices soar! System (#10) will now have to pay double the money to upgrade the ships!"

Doh, bounties can be too cheap on bots!
