The Issue with Port Takeovers

This is completely my opinion.
Recently there has been many port takeovers that last a mere day or so then die out quickly. Never have I witnessed a successful hostile port takeover. They ALWAYS fail.
My belief is because simply many of these takeovers have no backup to when the gold runs dry. Its usually a small group (sometimes 1 guy) who buy a huge amount of influence in a port then immediately lose it the next day. When will it become apparent you can't take a port without teamwork of some sort? Nations and guilds are all peaceful so they don't take eachother's ports. The only guilds that aren't peaceful don't even want ports. So are these really port takeovers or just attempts to make a minor disturbance to nations? I think the latter.
I have grown tired of these attempts. When will someone with a team actually step up and take over a port for themselves through hostile methods instead of backing down when enough propaganda's has hit their easily exposed influence? I cannot be the only one thinking this isn't getting old. Its a continuous and never ending cycle.
Just because someone can buy in 200mil influence in a port does not mean they will keep it at ALL. It means they have most likely wasted gold and voodoo.
