Extortion

Is practicing extortion allowed in the game? I am not going to name anyone but there is at least one player who is demanding percentage of others revenue to stop attacking and abstain from future attacks.

Although it may seem cruel, i don't believe you can (or should) find a way to prevent extortion. all someone is doing is attacking a player which is well within the rules.

the only thing i think may be a problem is the milking/pushing rules. i'm not too familiar with what applies but perhaps certain forms of extortion may fall under those rules

Seems to me that the case could be included in those in the milkink/pushing page, if a stronger player milks a weaker one. Not sure. Just my two cents.

Milking is a different case than extortion. We can tell when a payment is coming through a deal or through milking. Remember that the base rule of milking is to play the account to its best interest. I understand that the vast majority of the playerbase would prefer that such kind of gameplay should be punishable by the rules.

I am personally not convinced that administration should have a say in this. It is after all quite difficult to define extortion. If someone pushes for a daily/weekly or monthly tribute in exchange for not attacking you, then he obviously cannot do the same to a lot of players. This is where guilds come into place.

So, this is something that guilds must solve in my opinion, not administration.

That being said, this is posted in the right forum, so you may continue your discussion with one another without me in your feet.

Extortion seems to be well within rules and players may use that weapon at their discression.

Used right, it's a very effective weapon but with slightest mistakes it may backfire.

Morally it's condemnable but it ain't against any rule.

I agree, but no offence to your comments, Admin - Guilds can not help you out when you are being lit up... They can prevent it, but they are such ways : To light players up ( SSTG knows - No offence intended - I have to use a different strategy on them )
