Captain Jack wrote:This issue has been investigated and resolved fully.

As for facts, summarized:

1.There was a recurring pattern as PhoenixKnight suggested.

2.There was not cooperation but heads up warnings from xprox to dman and occasionally from dman to others. Multiple times over a period of 2 months.

3.The warnings were about forthcoming spell ups. The spell up was the casting of 3xHostile Natives to a number of victims. Usually around 3-7.

4.The suspicions are justified; when you know a player is semi active and a good friend of the one gaining on the cast, it leaves no room for a random event. Especially when events are stringed together.

5.Besides Hostile Waters there is nothing else of note. There were a few personal wars of xProx that have not raised any concerns in regards to a grey area.

As for actual grey areas, summarized:

1.There is a grey area when you constantly rip the fruits of someone else's labor. Especially when this labor goes in vain and there are no returns for the one doing it.

2.There is a grey area when someone appears to attack you on behalf of another with no obvious gain.

However:

1.Dman has no realistic gains over this to fall into the Milking rule.

2. Dman is not responsible for XproX actions.

3. The essence of the one side of this story falls here:
Black Sparrow wrote:I had multiple real life friends who played this game and no longer play. I would never ask them to do something similar and if they did, I would not participate.

Dmanwuzhere, after we contacted him, agreed to avoid hitting any of the targets xprox chooses, to help with the current situation that has been created.

In case XproX decides to actively participate in the game again, it is another story of course.

As for Witch Doctors:

1. If there are no hitters, how will witch doctor conduct damage?

2. A few FoJ or HNs are not the end of the world for any player.

3. We will deal with the issue separately anyway, based on the ongoing discussion.

A few words:

All players should avoid bringing such issues on the forums. It helps you keep the bad poison of who cheated or not away from each other. You all are playing in a competitive environment where you put a lot of skills to the test. The easiest way to lose your direction is if you start thinking that you lost because of a cheat. This is why you need to trust administration and its decisions.

We are not here to favor anyone. We are here to keep things fair for everyone.

As the whole story unfolded, it became clear to me that we speak about a tactic. Well done, dman, its a nice tactic. You should better use a real mercenary for this though than a friend of yours. Then no one would say a word.

Of course, how one can use a mercenary when the profit for such cannot be paid by the profit that can be generated. So I guess that the tactic is not that good in the end and you should probably do your casting alone. Even CJ thinks it will be better this way. I am not being ironic by the way, I find it a good tactic and if it was you doing the casting, I think it would have paid more.

Surely, I agree, it is not a big deal in the end that xprox did the casting. We speak of a bunch of Hostile Natives and the avoidance of any retaliation that went back to xProx instead, a player with only voodoo to lose. You cannot really blame anyone here. Replies can be very off the limits lately and most players are unaware of what is the proper response.

I know I casted nothing on xProx but I instead casted on all three that attacked me. 3xHNs too. I find it fair and not a 4x reply as Shadowood pokes me about (Sea turtles!). I am done in my reply too. Point is that dman and the rest got the retaliation so they gain no actual benefit from xprox. In the same time, there is really no excuse for experienced players; you now know who was behind your HNs, right? :xx

I find the solution provided fair. :arr

My apologies to Banger,Feniks and Dman for the shared IP accusation.

To be sincere, the post was created because it felt like cheating. I mean, xProx, I know the guy. Why attack me out of the blue? It didn't make sense. Outside of a guild? Then followed by attacks in multiple ports in a few minutes? It smelt badly.

I am all about cooperation. If VUDU is purposefully using xProx as a way to attack people and get minimum retaliation back, as a tactic, then I am interested to see what xProx gains in the process. As of now, he gains bad reputation and nothing at hand, unless there are mountains of golds and credits that have already gone his way for his valuable services.

Of it is any consolation Sparrow, that very same smell hovered over the Ayes guild for a few weeks and months. The air only cleared when I asked an old guildmate who was in a similar situation as xPROx was to start shot-gunning a short list of suspects.
I guess that bad smell has drifted towards you unfortunately. Despite numerous complaints in forums about this style of game play, it remains a problem for some. My only real consolation is that its not a personal attack but rather a tactic used against large traders and those that would threaten the originator if discovered to be guilty of such game play.
Looking at it from your perspective Sparrow, I agree it is a form of pushing and enhancing another players account.

So, Stan, you admitting to using a proxy against others?

Sorry to keep posting after CJ post, but I missed half of this thread so re-reading it.
