It's not about double standards. Just read his posts from the start of this topic, one by one. There is an escalation and continuous trash talk. If we wanted to judge by a single harassment, he would have earned a warning as well, as he also used the same phrase.

If you ask me, I don't like it or use it but the fact is that he is the first to call this unacceptable after he already used it in the same topic. So what I am supposed to do, start giving warnings for something that has been okay till now? This cannot happen,it is late for this. I guess we should put this to the list of harassments, from now on, right? Although, to be fair, calling someone for attention whoring does not sound the same to me by calling someone an a. So I leave for you to decide, to see the difficulty here.

So, the important step here is to realize that any harassment will inevitably create more. All sides need to zero it. Who gets banned in the way and who got a warning or not is not as important. Mack could have earned 3 warnings only in this topic today. This would have earned him 1 day ban. So what? What will this change? Even if it was a 2nd time, if would be a week. It's not a big deal either, the punishments are minimal. Many times after all, pms are sent instead of warnings.

Warnings are actually only a method to signal that it is time to stop as there is no more patience or leniency left. Most players tend to understand this and I hope Mack as well.

To close, I will remind here that Clockwork has 2 warnings. Which shows that none is above the rules and that everyone might overextend at times, including player admins. The rest should keep their cool and judge on new cases, forgiving the closed ones.

Again, I see the posts getting out of hand. This is exactly what happens with baiting. Using text to rile up community members without making any point. If we blocked those comments, there is no need for further discussion. Also, if the administrator is really neutral, both comments would have been blocked to ensure that the topic is not subverted. I can barely understand what manzwhoswhere wants to say. There is barely any stuff of value to gather for suggestions. It sounds acerbic and yet on carefully rereading in the slowest possible manner find nothing offending, but deliberate placement of words to rile up the reader. Why then is it available for a public display of affection? If a beginning has to be made, why not today? Why not now?

It is basically the ranting/trash talk/random posts forums. Nothing has to make sense, follow the topic, or be politically correct.

There is a clear and cut warning on the Forum Description.

Flaming is expected here. If you are easily offended, avoid this thread all together.

While I disagree with the assessment by CJ in the use of the term Attention "*****ing", I will refrain from using it in the future. IMO, it isn't harassment or bullying. Attention ****ring in regards to forums is the act of posting outlandish or nonsensical posts in effort to draw attention to themselves.

If you want to quit the game, you just quit the game. You don't post a rant saying you are leaving. Doing so is just to draw attention to yourself or something you want everyone to see, it fits the definition perfectly, which is why I said it.

To Grimrock, good to see you are back.

To Deznutz - We were having a serious conversation and it gets subverted by subtexting comedy by Psychodad, not once, but three times in this very post. Each time I try to draw it back to context, it gets diluted and within a few mins. And it is quite deliberate if you reread the threads and times correctly just in this one post. Why should comic interludes be in every suggestion topic? Let the discussion happen, and hence I feel Psychodad's interlude is deliberate. Try laughing when you are crapping to gain context.

To Dman - While I still don't understand what a tidepod and who Suzy is, I will let my reply pass since you feel I attacked you.

Clockwork - I am scratching my head whether you two are fighting it out or playing foosball in this post.

At the end of the post, we have not defined what we started out to do. Who is the next newcomer in line for this treatment?

What I will do henceforth, actively, aggressively is highlight any comments or conversations which stray away from the main topic. That is within my scope and I feel I can do it without harming anyone's interests.
