I don't want guilds or nations to share anything about their members. I just don't mind the raiders sharing intel. Guilds have been doing a pretty good job helping their members and the pirates could use some help from each other once in a while. If anything, the guilds could post false info to throw us off.

How bout guilds provide info on other guilds inactives.
There is this player in VUDU who is inactive.
Should I name him/her or just let you pirates figure it out?

Hell I'd gladly spill the info I don't give a damn. If anyone is interested in ships, I got a list of inactives a mile long.

I understand both sides of the argument here. However, I'm with Danik on this one. Appeasement has never worked and never will. (i.e. World War II). If you want to target inactives to salvage ships instead of making or buying them yourself, that's great. I do the same thing myself. However, I think that asking and expecting guilds to hand you the information on a silver platter is folly. Also, there may be an indirect reason for people to foil your attempts on inactives.

For example, we know the more ships a player plunders the stronger they become. The reason that some may defend inactives might be to limit the power of pirates and privateers

Of course we must not lose sight of another reason to defend inactives : it can be enormous fun frustrating each attempt to defleet them. My personal favorite us to toss a genny in the mix just as they are about to claim the prizes : and as their now well lit hit fleets get duly plundered by others a warm glow of satisfaction reaches deep within. Well worth the occasional 500k.
