At one point, Spain controlled 18 ports : unasked for, but it happened as Barbados folded and decamped en masse to Spain : an event Spain could not prevent as nations can not stop anyone joining them (theres a thought, history repeats itself with the same players doing the same thing, have to admit, it would be funny) : Spain before this adventure by the USA, controlled 8 ports : before the war which saw Barbados fall, it controlled 6 : so, Richard : thats pretty much in line with your 'as before +2-4 ports' comment on Spains plans : name me another nation that has willingly passed up control of 10 ports? My own view, when I was in Spain, was that 6-7 ports was enough ; others felt differently, some no doubt felt that 21 was about right. Is it time for Pax Americana? Maybe it is, but dont expect applause and grateful natives lining the shores throwing flowers at you, and certainly dont come expecting me to bow the knee and pay tribute either.

Mr. Rothschild wrote:Interesting approach by Spain, they won't cast on US but as soon as we gift a port they lean on the little guy.. thought you said Spain was all for helping others attain ports Danik?

I just saw this post and feel compelled to reply despite it being water under the bridge.

Mr. Rothschild, you know damn well I told you that we in Ayes would not cast voodoo on you. I did not agree to not cast on others.
If others really want to risk their gold and take a chance that Spain will not just step on them while they are on the way to the fight, that is their business.
If they think that somehow, in 2-3 weeks you will be there to cover their scrawny tails, they do not know you like I do.

Now, getting back to the voodoo casting, I might try to honor my commitment I made to you however your action opens up an avenue for me to emulate and not feel the slightest twinge of guilt or fear I reneged on my commitment.
I would almost feel guilty sending poor mr Valor into battle with his healthy count of trade ships on a death mission but that is for Skyhawk to consider. BTW thanks Valor. I think you and I broke even. I hope you were paid well from Mr Rothschild but sharpen up your game or you will never last.
