Dont get me wrong, im all for the quick sharp bite, i do it often.

I was actually hinting to Teach, if he wants to react in that manner to something he cares for being lost he should react that way all the time rather than just when the specific item is threatened.

Not supporting the noobs here.

My very first lesson learned was this exact scenario. I cast a pirate tales and Vane himself. He responded I. Almost an identical way. I emailed him explaining I was testing the mechanics of certain cards. And he explained this very point.

I see no issue with Teach response..... Lesson learned.

In my opinion, if it suits you, poke at the bears, cause its fun.
Then expect to get your butt kicked.
When you do get your butt kicked, dont cry about it.
Instead learn how they kicked your butt and learn how to do it yourself. Then, in a few years you can do it to some scrappy young noob who comes for you.

I agree 100% if you do mess and get hell out of it don't complain. I would say it is harassment if Edward kept attacking that noob but if he responded on unprovoked attack it is his right. Every action has reaction

If someone hits me, new or old.
I assess the damage, and the cost of a return hit.
I also evaluate the cost of and likelyness of future attacks from that player.

If i choose to respond it will be quick and most likely slightly excessive. The purpose being to encourage the player to find another target next time.

Other times, if i dont expect the player to repeate the attack anytime soon and it was not to costly or inconveinent i chaulk it up to the cost of doing buisness. Let it go and continue about my buisness.

Players should not need to post warnings.
Any player who does not at least consider responding
To an attack will not last here long. So expect to get something.
You may get nothing, you may get slapped, beaten, bloodied, or if you choose the wrong player they may harrass you. Its a roll of the dice. If you are worried about if, consult your guild mates for intel before attacking.

What one player thinks is an exceessive response may just be normal to another. If you log into 10 cards cast on you be thankful it was not 100. 50 events be thankful it was not 500.

I consider excessive any attack in which the player or players attacking need to buy self sacrifices or use death poker to keep attacking you because they ran out of all the turns they had while casting on and attacking you. But, that said you have not really lived until you have provoked an entire guild onto attacking you.

Ahoy all,
Just seeing this thread now, so I reckon I ought to weigh in on the subject. Actually, just three points that I would like to make:
1) Personally, I do not take kindly to those who cast Pirate Tales. I feel that it is a very cowardly and cheap way to get Fame. It is an act completely devoid of honor. If it were up to me that card would be stricken from the deck. I spent long years accumulating the fame that I have. I got it the old fashioned way, I earned it. It does indeed chap my hide when some wet behind the ears swab can, with one click, obliterate weeks worth of plundering and running fleets with high danger.
2) It is the duty of any "Guild", worth its salt, to educate its players about the use of voodoo, and the possible outcomes and consequences of casting on certain players, and folks in general. There's almost always gonna be blow back from using voodoo on someone because the act itself makes an attack so very personal.
3) It would also be the purview of of said "Guild" to protect its players from any voodoo cast on them. I was frankly amazed to see that Osman, and his crew, left the voodoo I cast on Thunder Bones active for a full 24 hours (without clearing it). What kind of a "Guild" does that?
Just saying. Thanks for letting me share.
