Really Xanadu? I did this to you? Had three players cast constantly until the server crashed?

Question, were you online when I raided you Xandadu? I was in the middle of typing the sentence, "think these weenies will ever attack?" Not a long sentence. I went from the bottom of this list of events to the top instantly. One second I had 200 turs, then next none and cutter sunk, confused, etc.

You really think that's fair? That you can cast hundred cards on a guy before he can even cast 1?

Compare and contrast if you will class with AyeCappy's gentle 2xHN raid, that proceeds slowly over at least an hour. You don't don't respond to your messages, you don't log in, you are SLOWLY drained of your gold, then your capital ships carefully prepped and one by one removed from your fleets. None of your guildmates notice. AT ANY TIME you could log in and throw up some gold, raid over. Take sometimes several hours. Lets call this "ethical" raiding--you had plenty of chances to defend.

Then there is your guys slap dash, throw the kitchen sink, no subtley whatsoever, empty the enormous dusty voodoo vault.

And once again, how can I be complaining and whinning about the beating I'm taking WHEN I'M NOT TAKNG A BEATING. You guys cheated and still failed. I merely point this out for general amusement.

Thanks for posting that, Cappy. That voodoo attack went really well. We scheduled it days in advance and even after 3 people didn't show up we were able to take down your Mindbar and load you up with voodoo in 3 minutes flat, despite you being online.

There were only a few little things we could have done better. I was surprised to find your Mindbar up so I yelled to SHM to take it down fast. He could have had a tab open with serenity ready to cast but instead it took him 23 seconds to start removing it. Next time it will be faster.

I then used the spy network to find your least-guarded fleet and sent the id# of your cutter to Delt for demolition. While SHM was casting time spirals every second I cast my levis as fast as I could so that you wouldn't have time to respond. Unfortunately you were online so you were able to sell a few of your other ships and we didn't have a chance to take full advantage of your exposed sotls. The server didn't crash. If that had been the case you wouldn't have continuous time stamps like that.

You can try to define a style of play as ethical or not but don't expect me to agree with you that using a game's weapons against my enemy is unethical. You and Majesty seem determined to question my morality at every turn. I don't consider your personal attacks to be "fun" to play against but I can't change you so I usually just ignore it. I'm here to have fun and problem solve.

I'm sure you will bounce back. You always do since your whole guild is so impressively resilient.

Hmmmm. Every time you guys attack me you know that you have at least an 8 hour window to hit me. It is also impossible to be awake the rest of the time and online when you have kids like me. Not sure what was edited out of this, but just FYI I have two small kids as well, one of which has had to watch his cartoon on netflix on our only computer during much of this aftermath.

I'm sure you'll agree, sometime you got to put the whole thing into perspective, its just a game, and let him watch his penguin show, you know?

Well said, mate. The key to a game be fun, or it be a waste of time.

Pirates are experts at raids as combat is their primary business model. Like a tiger, or pack of lions, pirates operate. Figure odds , knowing when to take profits and run. Sometimes in a group, mostly alone, pirates find their prey.

Traders trade, buy expensive toys, throw magic shows and fireworks, making combat a sideline and a way to break the tedium of trading. Most times, it's more like a band of raging baboons when we go on attack. Lots of noise, a big mess, and when is said and done - win or lose, fun was had by all. Usually.

Bottom line be every once in a while, sailors have to go on a bender, break a few chairs, insult the ladies and yell at each other. When it's done, pay the tab, and wait for the next blowout.

Don't take it all too serious, mates - it's a game where scoring is subjective... But a game, none the less.
