There has been recent attacks with BD and conspiracy on St Kitts ports as well. Looks like someone is stirring trouble for port holding nations.

Agreed. All under cover curses against populations and influence, nothing overt - just enough covert to stir tensions.

Quite a motivational sap to be honest. I can understand one working towards or attacking another in an attempt to profit, but simply doing it to ruin others work? All this does is limit progress, something I would think developers would be against.

Black Death cards need a limit on them. 5 per port per 24 hours I'd say.

Situation normal then : I'm privately informed that another nation has also been subject to undercover attacks on its influence.

Stirring the pot is not exactly new tactics : one might ask what is to be gained from doing so, but from chaos comes profit and who knows, maybe a port or two can be acquired from the wreckage. No, that never happens, does it?

Well, as Shadowood wisely states : ' Oh the joys of port ownership....'

-1 because port owners would love to get gold coins daily and spam port with TI's and then see it protected by this idea... nope I disagree... Solution is simple you don't want to spend hundreds and hundres of TI's and millions of gold then don't build your nation to billions of people....

I have nothing to gain either way because Bonaire has no intresst in ports... If we wanted port in the past it was for other purpose....

I doubt they are against wanton destruction : looking at nation and port control mechanisms, they seem specifically designed to waste assets, such they they are called 'gold-sinkers' with good reason.

That apart, there is a considerable element in this game (and others, its not specific to here) whose main cause of joy is discomforting others, either by word or deed : maybe its a power thing, who knows, but the destruction of things others have spent time and effort building carries its own special thrill for them : no profit is required, the act suffices in itself.

Aye - Wolfie & Danik have stated things well.

If limits in the use of Black Death cards are made, the same must be done to the Transport Immigrants card. All that accomplishes is lower volatility in population swings.

Bottom line, port control has limited benefits at the moment and high risk for return; and populations are the only way to maximize those benefits. New features are pending to add more perks. We await to see how they will figure into play.

Until a seafaring solution/feature can at least match the power of the voodoo cards, port control shall be pretty sterile and boring. As for the volatility, I see it being the same, but much more interesting!

Black Deaths and other covert port voodoo are part of port ownership. Removing them or restricting them directly is a bad idea. The USA ports have also been struck via Conspiracy and by Black Deaths. It sucks but if you have a nation with devoted players, this should be overcome with some ease. There are several options available to port holding nations that can be used to rebuild.
