On that related note;
Xepshunall, I submit that you have contributed above and beyond to what this game has become - if the scoring system of fame were accurately noted, you would be at the top of it.

However, mastery of a game for a game's sake and declaring that "this is how one should handle the situation or you are lying to yourself and to others," and playing just to have some fun away from the world is what "games" are all about. Some people have time and resources to invest in this as a hobby and strive to reach the levels you are striving to attain. That's great-Pirates Glory needs that.

Others, however, don't have either time or resources. Some are kids in school with more distractions than most- others are traveling retirees. They can't log in daily to make it to the top. They simply like passing the time here, playing. watching and learning, Socializing a bit. Then things more important come into their life and they are gone a while. The then like to come back to their little mom and pop of the 17th century, to escape a bit. Pirates Glory needs that, too.

The retention rate on this game isn't very good, simply because of all the time and resources it takes to invest to get anywhere in this game, let alone the "protocol" for going to battle. One false step and you're a porter. Most games have a vacation mode - the account freezes, with no growth and no loss until they can get back and give it some time.

I'm sorry if you feel I've lied to you and the rest of you. I thought this was a community for helping others, teaching others how the game works - even if they can only play once every other week or so. That's how the game will be helped and improved, not by slaughtering some poor slob who can only get to a computer once a week because he's "inactive." The learning curve here is intense.

Sure, I've terminated inactive players and even plundered them, usually to the benefit of every active player that's got wind of how to plunder inactives. I've also had them come back to find nothing. I think the act of plundering inactives is a glitch in the system, an unoffical "treasure hunt" for those in the know.

I digress - My point is how Pirates Glory is played and how often it is played differs from player to player, as you don't play the same as I or Skyhawk, or anyone else for that matter. Ideals are different, motivations to play are different, and I'm sorry if mine's wrong.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, mate - and sometimes you have to agree to disagree.

I like my battles short and sweet, long campaigns don't really help anyone. However, since leviathans were cast and I supposedly lost I am hard pressed to stop raiding you guys. Gotta make a profit right?

Consider the "War" ongoing although I think ceasefire periods are a good idea. Unless I am attacked you guys can relax for now.

The problem is voodoo if You Hawk continue to raid off the plunder screen as X said fair game. But if you use voodoo to expose weaker targets then expect quick and destructive retribution.

Ultimately not every case is the same. For example, will you hunt down a newbie for casting Pirate Tales on you? How about if an experienced player does it?

Inactive feeding is something casual but I would call inactive someone who has not played for like a month. Not someone that logs in once a week or goes away for two. For example,there have been two-three cases I have been away due to real life issues for 10 days. On of them I got attacked but my allies helped me during that time and that was GREAT. It is great to have allies that care :)

To be fair, as the game is setup right now, either the merchants will need to start equiping their merchant fleets with ships like large frigates OR rely on guild members to keep them safe. I was discussing with a certain notorious pirate such a tactic which would make things really unpleasant for most merchants with the current setups.

Eventually, it is up to the players goodwill that we do not have player-"murdering". Either the goodwill of those attacking or those defending. This time, it was the defenders ;)

Well played in a nice war for both sides, it is always good to see a war ending in courtesy and I hope you enjoyed it :D

(I now hope -alongside with other players I have discussed it- that devs will not delay the forthcoming anounced features: we have already got strategies that rely on these features and they are much needed. I don't want to sound an ignorant and unthankful player -you are doing a good job lately- but the game right now needs these features and it needs them fast!)
