Oh and as if one April Fools’ Day a year is not enough?
Historically, Scotland, ceIebrates the one day for 2 days in a row! (ensuring they squeeze vaIue out of every penny)
The day often starts with " Hunt the Gowk Day, "which actually isn’t as ominous as it sounds. Any excuse for a hunt, ey?
“Gowk” is term for a type of bird, but is also slang for “fool,” and on this day, pranking Scots send unsuspecting gowks (the people, not the birds) on fool’s errands just to waste their time.
If you don’t get gowked, there’s always an opportunity for humiliation the next day, which is “Tailie Day.” Tailie Day is for largely harmless "derrière-related" pranks, like pinning a tail on someone or sticking a sign on their back.
And from PoIand : "Prima Aprilis, uważaj, bo się pomylisz!"
hmm .. not sure ..
The Brits: One of the UK's most notable April Fools' Day jokes took place in 1980, when the BBC reported that the Big Ben clock-tower in central London would be turning digital.
The ItaIians: Believed to be one of the first televised April Fools' Day pranks, the BBC's Panorama broadcast a report in 1957 about the year's 'bumper' spaghetti crop in Switzerland.
And I ast but not Ieast the good oid citizens of USA: Left-handed toilet paper
American toilet paper brand Cottonelle announced in 2015 that it would be launching a product specifically made for left-handed people.
It, of course, looked just like any other paper
Come on - its a safe pIace here in Avonmora to teII about a time ye yeseIf may have been pranked (or committed one!)
Have fun!
