PORTSIDE PERUSAL - Global Events Round Up:

Image

Absolutely nothing happened for nearly a solid fortnight and then so much happened all of a sudden and I got caught snoozin at the wheel. Turns out thats just as well because then too much happened. Arrgh!

I looked over the global events a number of times and just couldnt find the wherewithal let alone any oomph to actually write it up this month. Been fightn.

Besides, our special bulletin on SHM more than makes up for this omission.

Kings, Dukes, Councils, Nation Flags, Battle Stats and new biznzs overwhelmed the crew at MIAB. We decided to have a rum or two to discuss and that was the end of that.

We voted to keep drinking the rum until it was all gone instead and stuff the Global events ccolumn for this month... Cheers.

That being said, a number of milestones were attained.. Leo 1000 skirmish battles, SilverShadow 10K battle wins and 30k skirmish, dman 40K total battles to mention a few. Spectacular work all!

Day 3125 will be remembered in the PG History books as the day Albania rose to wipe Spain off the map.
Spain initially welcomed xPro with great enthusiasm and open arms. But it was not to last.

It was all 'welcome xPRO' until it wasnt. Mainly because his friends and all the crew from Dominca began to rank up behind him and the Spaniards finally caught on...xPro and WilliamOneEye tampering with the Spanish Treasury Payouts and forcing the locals EOTC likely did not help much if at all.

They were not pleased and one or two folk said so.

Image

They made their displeasure known. A little bit.
They were not very welcoming offering no handshake or even a cup of tea.
Nor did they invite the invaders to feast which was really quite unacceptable behaviour in anyones world.
This was an invasion. Not a visit of support. This was an attack on their nation. The first thing you would offer is food and drink, no?

Even the bright happy greetings on the nation wall were torn and dirty now, graffitied and changed to read less cordially. In fact all the marauders were told in no uncertain terms they were not welcome.
There was even a notice pinned that read "You are not welcome'

Chatter has it complacency played quite a role in this loss for Spain. MIAB reached out to OG-Spain for comment but noone was interested or available it seems.

Heck, we even tried having folk who are friends with the Spaniards try to get a sharing but nope.. no comment there either.

MIAB is reliably and vociferously informed this is indeed a Treasury Raid record.. (6.5BILLION incase you are not aware). If you count cleaning out the Treasury at Dominca beforehand its much closer to 10. There is conjecture as to whether taking from your own treasury can be regarded as a raid. The Domincans-turned-Albanians certainly seem to think so!
Congrats to all those involved.

Commizzies to those that lost this battle - but remember as long as PG exists, the war is never won!

Dman -
Thieves enter by the route of the common man.
Quickly entering Spain with a bold and daring plan.
Dress as nobles and enter the treasury with swords drawn.
Win or lose, come what may, fighting dusk until dawn,
All for the glory of fighting legends that would inspire the bards.
And the bragging rights of lost limbs or jagged scars.
The intruders were met with sharp words instead of swords,
by the ruling class, hopeful peons, and fearful overlords.
A wench and a braggart joined ranks to talk the most,
upset with the rush of thieves that came to boast.
As the treasury was drained and the Spaniards began to flee
there were yells and moans from the braggart and a wench quite dirty.
"We were leaving before you came" and other lies too stupid to say
echo as I stand here pissing their treasury away.
Talk is cheaper and more useless than the late Spanish wench will ever know.
Gold is king and there is plenty of that, now for VUDU to show.
And to the braggart who swears he's a legend for decades to come,
Legends never have to talk about themselves, everyone else does it for them over a good bottle of rum.

All Global Events are of course worth mentioning apologies for not doing so but in particular we will say congrats to madshan for taking her second queenly crown. This time at Dominica

Image

Sadly though, it seems the crown was not a great fit after all for no sooner was it placed on her head, she quickly tossed it into her ever-growing collection and deserted Dominica after ransacking what was left of the Dominican treasury ... and ... turned pirate -coming in at #4 in the Pirate combat rankings.
Well done!
Er.. wait.. no...yes..no.. Aye! Well done

Ofc MIAB could not round up the news events without mention of both CDV and Clockwork who seem to have slowed in the quest for KOAN.
With CDV enjoying Dominica and Clockwork apparently staying pirate, there is nothing to update nor anything new to report.
MIAB was not alerted to their whereabouts by any of the usual beauties who also follow them across the map in their quest to be "King of Everything"...
Reaching out to our informants we were surprised to hear they were somewhat bored waiting around for these two competitors to show up this month. Keep the fans happy folks!!

Congrats to everyone who gained achievements these last few weeks.
We have promised ourselves and our readers that we will refrain from drinking rum while on the job in future!!
