Ithink that NPC max, Player Max and Port Max should either have a decreased turn cost or they should not zero after a low amount successful attempt.

How about the max gets reduced by whatever you discover?

So -

Starting out with -

NPC Max = 500k
Player Max = 4 Million

Port Max = 5 million

I dig for treasure and find:

Scenario A - 300k gold NPC - NPC Max is reduced to 200k, Port Max to 4.8 million

Scenario B - 2 million gold Player - Player Max reduced to 2 million, Port Max to 3 Million

Scenario C - 10 gold player - Player max reduced by 10, port max reduced by 10

That seems reasonable to me. But then, so does the current system. The way it is now should encourage people to save up their turns and try for the really big treasures.

Goblin, (and anyone else of course, I am just making special reference to Goblin as he tops the rankings right now)

We are very interested in hearing any suggestions you might have for the feature so if you have anything in mind, please share. For anything that you think that cannot be discussed in public (ie existing tricks or suggestions for tricks) always feel free to send a PM to #1

Make it easier for newbies to hunt treasures hidden by people with ridiculously high fame or high ship count.
It sounds legit for a game a game trying to be realistic right? More fame means more people talk about you. Or maybe more crew means more chances of people opening their mouth.
I'm aiming for treasures hidden by high ranking profiles. More specifically players with a huge armada.

Pirates would usually just kill anyone who knew about the treasure location. But it would seem stupid for merchants and traders to actually bury a fortune they have earned legally.

This would prolly open up a new suggestion for Fame and Infamy but I'm sure we will have to tackle that on another subject.

I'm not very up on Treasure Hunts. I'm inclined to move this to discussion to see if this garners any additional thoughts or a solid suggestion.

I vote to move to discussion.

Is Treasure Hunting even viable these days? Since Banks who even buries their spare gold anymore? All I see being dug out on Events is legacy hordes from long gone inactives... and thats a diminishing pot.

Sure there are ways to max on NPC but a port empty of player treasures soon blocks those too.

Methinks the whole concept needs re-working to not just reward the pros but maybe tempt back everyone else.
