With the game at a long time lull, players leaving, or just generally getting bored as there isn't much left to achieve. New players i'm sure find it challenging or daunting to compete with the many years behind each of us here and perhaps dont even bother sticking it out. (Im sure not the only reason but it must be considered.)

I have been trying to come up with ways to make it more entertaining, enjoyable, engaging etc. Features is one way yes, but we all know that takes time both hashing is out on the forums and coding / testing. Perhaps it can be much simpler. It has been discussed in the past, briefly to my knowledge, and maybe it's time to consider the idea of a second server.

It could mirror this one so shouldn't be too difficult to make happen. A new beginning where everyone works and races to climb ladders, hit achievements and picks their path. There really is quite a bit to do here and starting fresh means you cant do it all at the same time. Players would need to rely on each other for different needs, whether materials, workers, Voodoo support (no more overloaded chests, mine included), Pirate hunters and navy to keep the pesky pirates away from your guildmates and citizens. Bankers and goldsmiths needed as not everyone will have their own or be able to afford to do it all for some time. Pick a niche fall in and supply the player base, no monopolies or self reliance.

Leave the current game server as an Eternal one for those interested in keeping what they've worked hard for (you could play on both servers), and create a new one. Whether it be timed as a round based server like the originally thought for PG or let it ride eternal as well and see how long it takes to max out as this one.

Im curious what everyone else thinks of the idea and if they would migrate to a new server?

I’ve personally offered to purchase this server off of CJ, with no response, to get things rolling forward and progress to be made that was promised but never delivered.

I like the idea of a new server but the server isn’t the issue this game currently faces.

We need active development to start happening. I don’t believe the owners are interested in going full dive on this game unfortunately.

Vane for goodness sake we are just now getting the updates CJ promised us for years. And you decide a second server so everyone has a do over? To go on a different path that you technically can do here. We all ready help each other but if you didn’t ignore then message I sent you concerning Feniks, that would have been obvious. Although maybe to get the plantation raids going as CJ suggested another would be the proper solution. However I am sorry unless you are planing to fund CJ for the second server and he agrees I am not even sure this should be a question? Plus the 72 hour shift CJ pulled just to do the migration to this server was pretty heavy duty and you want a do over. Pppfffftttt maybe if y’all act like your parents were playing the game you would not need a second server. Y’all are crazy.

Although talking with Zeph. He reminded me that CJ did mention a second server in Slack. July 17. And as I have stated it would solve the dilemma for the plantations raid. And chill with the panties in the twist comment. You should be backhanded for that comment.

here ... there... its all the same no matter how many times you reset there will be dominant players in roles others want ... so when those roles are filled is it time for the next server and rinse and repeat until everyone has a server they call home? i hate where the game currently is but its the game and server I signed up for no redos no wishful thinking ... it is what it is

I would quite enjoy a second start in the game. I joined almost (lol, just looked and it is actually over) ten years ago and it was rather different back then. No Hideouts, no banks, no marina, no ship market, no credit exchange, no gold bars, no plantations, no skirmishing : that is rather a different environment and vastly different choices had to be made in how you began and grew your account.

Part of the problem is that it made one adopt and then tend to stick to a particular path. Once you had invested heavily in say, nations and port control, it was damn hard to switch focus without feeling you were tossing away years of effort.

I would rather like to start again as a lickle ole pirate and focus on a more simple existence, still using my.knowledge and experience but without the need to dump ten years of work to do so.

Just my 2 cents while I don't feel that this would fix much of anything a game I play Called "The West" has different world states to play in and it works decently I don't think it's a bad idea as long as both servers are open.
