Ahoy all,

I will be brief. My plan is to finish Trade Routes and then work on a big large feature with clear intentions on bringing old players back. We cannot hope much in bringing new players easily and ads are failing big time recently.

So, I have picked out the following large features. Select by thinking what is best for you and the game and what could possibly give you more fuel to play and enjoy as time passes.

The options are:
Port Blockades
Flagships
Shaman At Sea


The implementation will be roughly along the lines already described. Since all of these are large, we will re-discuss whatever is needed.
Do vote without strategy on this one. If need be, there will be one more vote to pick one of two.

Selfishly: I would love to see Flagships.
For the Health of the Game: Port Blockades should come first. I believe this feature would have a draw for older players and hopefully put a spark in the current player base.

In addition to my above opinion. If Blockades come first, I do see a way that Flagships could come next and have a role in Blockades. Of course this is for another discussion once we see what comes next.

If flagships have a role in Blockades, then Flagship must come first. It would require a major recode effort to add after.

Best case scenario is if flagships play a role in blockades then they need to be done at the same time.

We are in agreement then, Flagship first then Blockades where flagship is required to initiate instead of MoW

I'm gonna say as someone that rarely plays anymore and is within this target audience of old players who would come back to play, I don't know if these features would be exactly what would do it. If anything, spending a little time working on the mobile interface would be a major improvement because rarely when I'm on a computer do I have the time or energy to log into PG. Rather, I want to log into PG while I'm on my long commutes on the bus or when I'm in a waiting room for an appointment. This convenience very well could be enough to renew my own and many other ex-players' interest in the game. That's just my two cents though

Oh that is a great idea Leo. Although I am the one who will use laptop, tablet, phone or whatever. And it isn’t easy to plunder ships while driving and having to pull over.

I can see the headline now: "Woman causes 40-car pileup while playing pirate game on her phone"

Yeah I think I got into PG back when I had school over zoom so I would just plunder and run my game while in class, now that the pandemic is over the only time I use my computer is to do my work or to create something so playing PG is actually sidetracking. That's why a better mobil interface would be nice. Phones are unfortunately the future and websites that can't adapt to that are doomed to lose traffic.
