This is a vote poll/ topic based on only the SYSTEM of PPP. Talking about whether the system is functional, not exploitable, and in cases if it needs more added or taken away.

There is +1, -1, or needs more work to vote.

I ask if its a -1 or needs work, that you could comment why it's a -1 or what needs addressed for needing work. Pm me if you want to remain anonymous. I'd be happy to take any and all criticism.

Here is the basic system:

Introducing PPP (Pirate Plunder Points)

-Only pirates (those under the pirate flag) can gain these points!

PPP are accumulated points that can be spent on temporary or permanent upgrades to the player, fleet, or ship of said player.

You accumulate these by plundering and skirmishing while under the pirate flag ONLY.

Let's start with something basic:

-You receive 10 PPP for plunders, and 5 PPP from skirmishes

-Your PPP score is cut in half when you join a nation flag, and decreases 1 PPP per hour while under national flags.

-Your PPP does not decrease while under the Pirate flag, unless manipulated by voodoo (possible upcoming voodoo to attack these points. Just food for thought there.)

-Losing plunders or skirmishes does not affect your PPP score whatsoever, you'll just gain no points.

-You gain a bonus 5 PPP for each ship plundered off of a player with a national flags.

-You do not gain PPP for attacking pirates with less than 200 ships.

Honestly it has similarities with CJ's proposed and approved "Flagship" concept.

I did notice, after it was pointed out in the original thread, the same thing, however the difference is instead of EXP it would be spendible points for boosts and bonuses. Plus only Pirates may have this perk. No one else. Pirate specific.

I chose specifically pirate, as I personally feel the pirates have underrated bonuses, and I also feel that with piracy tech requiring much gold, and since gold is easiest to obtain by trading, it make players naturally and financially choose to trade first. Starting out straight piracy, without proper guidance, is hard, and since piracy isn't as attractive as it should be in a pirate game, not many can teach it (I'm glad I can say I'm able to teach it.)

I may just have a bit of temporary bonuses instead, and later discuss permanents in a new thread.

That and I'd like to be able to implement this into academy upgrades to replace gold for piracy tech and skirmish tech (the later upgrades.)

Perhaps a new building could come up the PPP an allow more bonuses to be purchased or to allow permanents. Just food for thought.

I see a lot of potential with this basis for pirates. May not be perfect now, but ill make sure I'll give itthe best shot I can of making It into the game.

I guess what I’m saying is... we can’t have both Flagship and PPP. I think the two would cross paths in a few different areas and make an unbalanced situation (or 3).

Maybe have where the PPP bonuses don't stack with the flagship fleet?

Remember this is the discussion to vote okay or to revise :) -1 only if it's just not good for the game

If it interferes with stuff, it can be re-adjusted :)

But I'm not currently worried about the flagship portion, as it hasn't been implemented yet. Once it does implement, then this can be adjusted.

I have gotten some good stuff In my PM's for this that I didn't consider at first

So I thank those who posted here an messaged me on some insights.

How would this interfere with the Flagship? I only can recognize the bonuses from PPP and flagship coinciding, and even then, it would only interfere with pirate flagship, and at that point, not much has been discussed for pirate specific flagship. From hat I remember that is.

I like it. Allows a clear distinction to be made between those who dedicate themselves to the path of piracy, as opposed to those veteran players happy to take the benefits of nationality (e.g. stipends) who engage in piracy for a spot of sport ('fair weather pirates'). It's precisely for this reason I see a lot of the latter complaining about it. +1.
