Plunder target disappeared

I noticed a player being hit and ships stolen. Suspecting that someone was lighting this player up with FFJs, I got my fleet to a port to join in on the fun, expecting that the fleets might light up again two hours after the original attack (knowing, of course, that the voodoo may have been lifted by then, but it's worth a shot).

So I arrive at the port, and wait. At the top of the hour, I click "Plunder", and see that the target does indeed light up - an estimated ten fleets, and zero gold in purse. I click "assault", select my fleet, and then attack. Then I get a message that I can not attack this fleet (I didn't note the exact wording, I simply assumed that someone else had attacked that fleet just before me). So I hurry up to try to get another fleet. But back at the plunder screen, all the fleets from the player is gone! No way anyone attacks that fast, I think. Checking the "port battles", I further see that the target was, indeed, not attacked at all at this time. So maybe his fleets were moving between ports, and attacked in their other ports? Nope, I checked port battles in all ports, and the player was not attacked in any ports at this time.

Does anyone have any idea what might have happened? How can a player appear with all his fleets on the plunder board at the top of the hour, then have them disappear an instant later?

The issue is not that he didn't appear, but that he DID appear - and then disappeared!

Is it possible that I caught him after the FFJs added danger, but before the effect of the hour removed danger? If he had 2 FFJs, then that would make sense. Or if he had 3 FFJs the previous hour, and 1 FFJ when I tried to attack him. It seems rather unlikely, though.

you would have to talk to the caster to know all the variables
just adding what i know

>Ive seen this happen before, but only on fleets that are NOT MOVING. What happens is, 3 Danger is applied right at the hour. You click attack at the same time. See the fleets. But then a -1 Danger on the hour is taken away. Effectively making them all disappear.

This scenario ?

#1 There issue .is a small glitch in the game I think is simply an "order of operation" issue in coding. I have noticed it several times. I know you understand the mechanics of it but for the benefit of all I will walk through step by step.

-Cast 3 FFJ . Each card add 1 danger point to each fleet,
-3 or morer danger points on a fleet and it appears on the plunder board
-At the top of the hour, The game automatically removes 1 danger point from each fleet until danger is 0.

What I think is happening is FFJ has priority in coding, so the 3 danger points are added first, then the hourly danger reduction happens second. If you happens to reload the plunder screen right at the top of the hours the first hour the cards are cast, the fleets appear briefly then disappear 1 sec after top of hour.

Order of operation as you described, is what I think happens because I have seen it a few times. If you think about it, it makes sense since danger cannot go to -1, the FFJ danger has to be added before the 1 point hourly reduction takes place. If this were not the case then fleets would pop on the top of the first hour after the FFJ were cast.

#2 Could it be the raider was simply faster than you and cleared all fleets before you could click?

Feniks, it is definitely #1, as you described it.
FFJ danger is added first, then DR removal follows.

I have seen it a few times too, it's ultra rare.

Welcome back Haron :y

Thanks, everyone. I wonder: Has anyone ever managed to get in an attack in this time slot between FFJs taking effect and danger dropping again? I think you'd have to be uncannily fast, if it's indeed possible at all.
