Survey for Damage

Postby PFH » Thu Sep 12, 2019 4:21 am

Alright i want tk ask the community based on a comment William made in the casts on vudu thread.

I request that players could name the most damaging things in the game in terms of damaging resources.

What do you believe is the most damaging thing? Or most damaging tactics. Overpowered stuff, illogical damages, etc etc

Ill start with my personal preference. I believe port retention and mass fleets lit up by ffj are very very damaging. How three cards can easily affect 300 fleets or how easily damaged a port can be from 50 cards or less and how expensive it is to keep one. Seems damaging to strategy because theres no skill in dropping gold.

Hard to say. It largely depends on the target honestly. A player with insane influence obviously props would be the most damaging. A merchant with little influence but a thousand unguarded trade fleets HN's and FoJs would be the most crippling. A pirate with only a few powerful ships, probably call leviathan.

The overall most damaging I would say is port action. Little returns and tons of work, heavy competition.

The biggest problem I have is mindbar can be a little weak Charles vane casted 5 hn's 3 went thru on top of that the price of mindbar doesn't help either say you put up a mindbar you also need some counters on top so now with 2 of those you have close to 12 million in protection to protect 6 million that's what I lost in both raids in the last 2 days and if I do have mindbar up trying to clear the hn's or foj's can be a nightmare for my guild mates
I can't see how to change hn's or foj's to make either side agree it would be better to make the mindbar stronger

i dunno its a toss up to me boredom or those who weaponize mod responsibilities
but both are pretty petty and really harmless in the over all grand scheme of the game
they tend to only be minor irritations when looking at the big picture
damages or butthurt received in the posting of these words is solely yours and yours alone
if counseling is needed therapist ahben buthert or cryin ferdays is available at the tp kleenex & creme clinic

The most damage you can do to someone is to take away their fun.

This is subjective and different for every player.
This is the best defense and also the most vile of offensive behaviors if taken to the extreme.

A few examples.

The player likes attention. Give them none
The player likes ships. Steal them, sink them raid them.
The player likes ports. Trash their ports.
The player likes combat. Try not to fight them.
The player is social. Try to point out their flaws till people turn away.
Ect

The broader the players interests and gameplay activities the harder they are to damage. A player with a single minded game
Narrative is easy to hurt either intentionally or non intentionally.

Always consider what your adversary is seeking.
Maybe they want you to attack them.

A mild attack in these manners might be a good deterant to your adversary. Taking it to far might ruin the game for them.

I prefer for the most part to just go with the flow and only deal damage for my amusement of game play, like stealing ships or a raid. Sometimes i deal damage in retaliation. I try not to intentionally hurt people for fun, for no reason.

@will well said sir +1
@clock also a great point. I would love to see cheap cards casted on ships per port not world wide as stated in past threads
