You can name and Icon your brokerage like a bank.
Ships brokerages would have a list similar to banks.
Organized in rank by the level and number of ships listed ( if equal it will resolve position by value of ships listed )

You build it in your hideout as part of the academy

Prerequisites

Hideout
academy level 1
- shipwright management level 20

this unlocks experienced ship broker.

level one experienced ship broker
unlocks the brokerage page ( set up your name and logo )
and gives you your first advertisement slot.

Levels 1 to 20 or maybe even 40
development cost structure similar to cunning accountants

For each level you can advertise one ship that you have in the market
- as few or as many ship specs as you would like on your advertisement.
- the advertisement will have a link directly to the ship in the market
- a potential buyer can send an offer from the advertisement for your ship if you have an offer option enabled.
- you can delete a ship from an advertisement at will to advertise a different ship.
- all advertised ships must be posted in the market.
- an advertised ship that ends in the market will automatically delete the advertisement.

When an advertised ship is listed in the market its details number is a different color.
you can click on the ship details and it will take you to the sellers advertisements, showing all advertised ships,
but with the selected ship either highlighted or at the top of the list.

This is was put together quickly after reading so thoughts about ship sales that were presented by Danik and Shadowood.
I am all for better ways to advertise your ships for sale, and am open to any suggestions, additions, and suggested alterations to
this idea.

To be clear this is a building yes?

I would reduce the level required for shipwright management based on the fact on how much time it takes to leel it up duration-wise. I was thinking level 10 or 15 instead of 20.

Perhaps this can require cotton to upgrade to give cotton some more usefullness. After all, advertisements and banners were woven by something ;)

I was thinking of this as an academy upgrade.

Ah okay. Didnt know what type of tech or mechanic this was. Said build in there so i assumed building. Sorry for the misinterpretation.

I very much like the idea, however i dont believe there should be a cap to advertise ships. I would say there would be something to pay for an advertisement in the same menu that you use to purchase another ship market dock.

However im very open to the idea. I like it

Started off thinking of it as a building.
Then thought it should just be more of an investment.
Extension of shipwright management made sense.
Figure early levels should be relatively cheap and then it would get rather expensive as you started getting near the maximum.

I have over 200 market slots, however I don't see myself ever wanting to set up advertisements for 200 plus ships.
I would use it for my best.

If each level have you 4 listing and 1 advertisement that would be 200 listed ships at level 40.

So a listing would not have any additional information except it would be shown in your brokerage as a ship you are selling. So if customers wanted to buy from you they could find you ships easily. Reserve advertisement for you best ships for sale of something you are trying to get moving.

Perhaps this tech can also add a personal comment section for you to post its trait details and have options to show the journal later in the levels? To show its experience on the field and shows its veteracy :)

I have no interest in spending on advertising my run of the mill ships but I would like to be able to draw attention to those I consider to be notable : this could be their stats, their traits or their historical value or interest.
I think williams suggestion has merit.
