I only get the disadvantages of server update, and none of the advantages. And why? I am European. Hath not a European eyes? Hath not a European hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as an American is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh?

I do not think the disadvantages are as severe as you previously mentioned. For instance it now takes 3 days to become a rightful King. You cannot do it based on 1 reset. Yea, you wear the crown but you are not bequeathed with the power for 3 days.

During the Spanish/IoM war, having European zoned players was a great help fighting against a mostly North American player base.
Severe damage could be wrought while America sleeps. and Europe was having morning coffee. Having the double/triple time zone differential in Spain certainly helped in attack/counterattack strategy.

Now although I agree a rotating reset would be more fair for everyone, differing time-zones offer a unique variable in your strategy and what Psychodad says is probably very relevant to sub-routines.
The server itself would need to be addressed for this also throwing off it's sub-routines possibly making a big nightmare.

Lot of port action takes time right before update to shift properly. That's mostly where the disadvantage for europeans lie.
Sure, we can do damage, while the americans sleep - But so can they, while we sleep.

sounds like a bunch of crying to me
i dont hear that crying when european time allows for raids at my 4 am
i have when rl allowed it made sure i was up when those who are raiding at those times are active which is 2-4 am my time

so are we going to next introduce a 6 hour mutually beneficial time slot for light ups and all possibly inconvenient times be outlawed?
we can even add a ban on voodoo casting during those hours as well because ... tears
unless you tell someone your time zone it takes research and watching to determine the best time to hit

as for a nation payout you choose the time to receive it so if it gets stolen thats your fault
what stipend is so huge it really affects your losses if anything stipends are an insurance in times of absence

i dont care who did the complaining but my advice is to s**k it up or use the rolling reset otherwise it just seems some folks have a lot of pull if their every complaint is catered to while subjecting others to the same thing being cried about

When I raid/play many are sleeping. When I am sleeping, many are raiding/playing. When I log on, I am forever catching up on your yesterday! In this way reset settings affect me. Often your convos etc wont show until click over. Maybe some kind of time warp as I am hours ahead of most of you.

I do have the adv of reset at a perfectly good and respectable hour for me so while I support change in the name of 'fairness and justice for all", I don't personally want THAT much change. I would have to reorganise my life! ( hehe - hmm.. I see your point!)
However, a rolling reset I could deal with.

A fixed reset gives advantages to some, and disadvantages to others. And it's the same people who has the advantages all the time. That makes the game unfair - and thus less fun. I much prefer games where everyone has the same opportunities.
